Envoy (American eagle) to reduce pilots

All the info I have points to them,TSA and maybe Skywest depending on what happens with the Bro and Delta 200s being the only pilot groups that can pick up the planes. Compass would be a good fit for the first 20 as my understanding is they have a full pool and were staffed for 117 ahead of all the other airlines. @Nick or @amorris311 is my info on Compass right?
About 30 in the pool I guess, if it was announced in the next week or 2 at the max and we started classes ASAP we should be able to pull it off without much struggle. Applications would probably quadruple too. Not really but there would be alot.

But wait, this can't be! Charlie said it was a bluff, and he dropped the mic like 58 times! :sarcasm:

:bounce::stir: Gotta hand it to you. That was awesome!

They are lying thru their teeth. I'd love to see who can handle E175s and CRJ700s. Even if it's multiple carriers, all of the cheaper carriers out there can't handle that much lift. Can't believe regional management is still trying the scare tactic angle
Who's lying through their teeth? The union? That's who the article says is their source.

Ummmm, that's not completely accurate.

The source for the article is clearly an email sent to the pilot group on Thursday from the MEC chair, Bill Sprague. In it, he says that the company had indicated last week that they are in the final steps of placing the E-175s intended for us at another property. We've already known for months that the 140s will be parked and that the CRJ-700s are supposed to be transferred to another carrier (regardless of the outcome of the TA ratification.)

But what do we know is true at this point? The E135s have all been parked and the E140s are actively being parked right now. No CRJs have left property yet, but I understand that the CAT II training that is being given to Embraer crews has not been extended to CRJ crews. However, there was recently a vacancy bid moving CRJs from NYC? to DFW which I understand is to be followed by another later in the year. How moving the CRJs to DFW would factor into eventually getting rid of them I am not sure.

Regarding the placement of the E-175s, we know nothing solid yet. While I do not consider it to be definite evidence of a bluff, I do find it strange that while the company was in such a hurry to place the 175s because deliveries are set to begin at the end of the year, that they have waited more than a month to do so. I have heard a rumor that suggested that management was shocked that the TA was voted down.

So what will happen? It is difficult to say at this point. Personally, I believe it is likely that the 175s will see placement elsewhere and Envoy will simply continue to shrink and stagnate. However, it is possible that the company may encounter enough difficulty with the aircraft placement that they may see no alternative but to renegotiate. Time will tell.

In this period of low pilot supply, management is threatening to give planes to other carriers who'd have to interview, hire, and give indoc to hundreds of pilots to save 2 cents on the dollar when Eagle has the pilots ready to fly the planes since 50 seaters are going away?

Just the time saved alone by having Eagle pilots not doing interviewing, hiring, indoc recovers the cost.

While I totally agree with you that giving the planes to eagle would save money...I also am totally expecting the opposite to happen because what you described makes entirely too much sense.

We really don't have the pilots. We will be under 2,000 by the end of the year.

Sorry, but you just don't get how management views labor relations. The EGL MEC went full retard, as far as management is concerned. They can put up with a little hassle from a labor group, but if you go full retard, they're going to have to retaliate. If they don't, then the radicals will get the idea that they can actually get away with their radical actions. That would be disastrous from management's perspective, so stamping it out is top priority, even if it costs them some money to do so. They'll do just about anything before they'll allow EGL to keep flying, let alone get more. It doesn't matter how much it costs them. It's worth it to them.

Worst...union rep...ever

Aren't the huge vast majority protected by a flow thru to AA? I heard 95%. I hate to say it, but who cares what happens at this point? Getting furloughed means more Eagle guys in the classes until they are all hired. With the retirement #'s there, the movement will be quick.

LOL. Yeah, load up on union reps who don't understand how management thinks. That'll lead you to success. :bounce:
I'm not going to lie. I'm conservative (except for gun control and education) and I read your posts how u don't get how any pilot is a republican. But I couldn't agree more with your last post. Management has to retaliate to show they still have teeth and power. I say this while I'm eating a free snack box from dougies diner :)
