Envoy 3 month upgrade

If I flow to AA, I will consider myself extremely lucky. There are over 900 pilots at AA that got there via flow. Would all of them have made it without a flow? I doubt it.

It's frustrating to hear people talk about how we are all guaranteed a job at the majors in the future due to retirements. The flow isn't a guarantee, but it's ridiculous to assume everyone will have a seat at the majors due to attrition.

how do Envoy upgrade announcements work at Envoy? Don't you get awarded the upgrade but then have to wait a couple months before actually going to class?

You see your name on the preliminary bid results. About a week or so later, final bid results come out. Then after another week or so the flow plan comes out and it tells you when you're going to training. Your training can be anywhere between a week to 9 mos after the flow plan. It depends on what type of training (qualified upgrade vs long term training) and type of equipment you're going to.

Hindsight is always 20/20, but leaving E at the time you did was a no-brainer. The future was not bright. There's no reason to look backwards. There were a bunch of us who went to ULCCs just to get out. If the ULCCs end up not having been a good choice (and I guess I'll make that determination when what would've been my flow date to AA arrives) then that's a learning experience, I guess. But there's no sense losing too much sleep over that at this point.

I agree. The way things change overnight in this industry, it's impossible to tell.

I get audibly excited whenever someone on the internet spells “lose/er/ing” correctly. Thanks for making the people in this coffee shop uncomfortable.
