Endeavor Flow for new hires

Sorry, man, but this is the same argument that people who advocate for "merit based" promotions rather than a seniority system make. "The upgrade should go to the best employee, not the next guy in line."

The pilots are already flying routes with the airline's name and code on them. The idea that they are somehow unqualified to do the same thing in a slightly larger airplane is why we are in such a mess to start with in this profession. The caste system needs to go away.
This is the best post I've read in a REALLY long time.

I'm already flying my mainline partner's passengers... What difference does it make if my pants are blue or black?

So theoretically all current FOs on property should have upgraded and been offered the SSP by the time the new hires 'flow.'

Quick question: Does the mainline union have to agree to the flow or is it something that management can do without the union?

Apparently they can go around both associations. There will be details later next week but you interview with Delta HR and send you to Endeavor, if you behave yourself you exit interview to real Delta.

Under "management rights" in most CBAs, it says that anything not covered in the CBA that doesn't violate Federal or State labor laws, management has the right to do. So, unless a union puts in language that controls who and how a company can hire, they can do whatever they want. Now, if flows are getting some special treatment as well (like starting on second year pay, or keeping some longevity for things like vacation accrual and what not) then the union would probably have to get involved. The only exception to that that I can think of pertains to date of hire for non rev travel. Within the USAirways system (and I believe the AA/Eagle (Envoy) system) guys who were hired up to mainline, either through flow, pref hire or off the street hire, kept their original DOH for travel purposes.

Besides the PA in Japanese reminding everyone that Detroit Michigan is in the eastern time zone, I probably hear "So and so, please call Endeavor crew scheduling" more than any other announcement.
We were doing alright, but our smart schedulers left for other jobs, the only guy I know for sure is good at his job can't do it alone.

Good thing we're going to keep parking, otherwise youd see this more often.

Which is pointless because it's not an official company notification. The only people who fall for the airport PA are new pilots who haven't been Pinnaclized. Or Bendovered.

One thing management couldn't get in bankruptcy was a requirement for us to answer phone calls during a trip. An official company representative has to be present for it to be legal.

I love when they do the PA and call a hundred times rather than do the one and only thing that works.

The other new one I've been getting a lot is the 20 calls while I'm doing the walk around. They do remember reserves must check out before we go home anyway right? So why are you blowing my phone up while I'm trying to do my job!?

Because they are understaffed, undertrained, and many of them don't have any idea how things are suppose to work day to day because of lack of experience.
