Endeavor Air - May 2025 Thread

I’m of the opinion that getting hired by a mainline is all about how great you can market yourself as a dispatcher, having a great reputation (this is a small industry) and your willingness to get better and learn more. If you’re in this for just the get 6 figure salary as fast as possible scheme… you’ll probably get frustrated unless you have an friend who is an executive or a family member that can get you in at a mainline. I believe that the mainlines are for the dispatchers who truly love their craft and want to do this their whole lives and constantly get better.

So I don’t buy the whole, work for this airline that’s specific to get you in to a mainline (Unless maybe Envoy) but no thanks

There are plenty of dispatchers at the mainlines who have no interest in aviation at all. Most i would say are closer to loving the job, loving aviation but it's not uncommon to talk to people who think it's a good job but dont love what they do.

Also, i think certain regionals are better than others for moving on to mainline. Skywest, envoy, republic, horizon and endeavor give you a better shot than others from what ive seen..

However the main point that this field is not a 6 figs quick industry and you need to be good to work with and always learning/improving is BANG on. People remember how you were to work with. Were you a nice guy? Did you help others? Did you always need help from others? Did you know your stuff? That is by far the most important, no matter which regional youre at

Speaking from experience, I know there's many different ways to get to the majors. I would say that networking is very important (join the ADF and go to the Summits!) as is persistence - apply at every major opening you see. However...it certainly doesn't hurt to go work for a carrier that a lot of people have gone to majors from (be it Endeavor, Envoy, Republic, or SkyWest.) And when you're starting out with no experience...assuming you have chosen to go the external hire route...you normally have to go with the first one of those regionals that offers you a job.
