Taildragger, your comment is flawed in the sense that there's NO WAY on earth you could possibly be saying I'll have equally as many things to do, or have equally the amount of fun that I have in NYC. You could NOT possibly be saying that this state has as much to offer as good'ol NYC does...Life is what you make of it. Grand Forks sucks because you guys allow it to suck. Sure there are things that I dont like up here, but I choose to go to school and live here. There are all sorts of things to do here, if you put your mind to it...just different things compared to what you're used to from home. Ever try snow mobiling? Hockey or other winter activities? In the summer you can go tubing or go to a lake. I've had a lot of fun on lakes in the summer months up here. I really think that when people say that there is nothing to do here or that GFK sucks, they dont have an imagination to come up with activities to do.
As far as businesses here, the town really revolves around the University. Aside from the Aviation program, UND has an excellent business school...mainly the accounting department. Cirrus also does their composite work here and the town is kind of a hub for local agriculture.
And that's why I have my strong opinion about living here. It'd be stupid of me to compare this ####hole to my lovely city. The point is ..... I'm never gonna have as much fun here as I do in a big city. The list of activities you can do here is sooooo limited compared to what you can do elsewhere.
