I actually would like to go snowmobiling, but I don't know anyone who owns one. I snowmobiled in CA as a kid a lot, but it's been a long time. Can anyone here get me out riding one??? Hockey is fun to play, but I haven't gotten into it...and I hate watching it. Much more fun to play it.
Lakes are non-existant around here. You have to drive 50 miles east to get any DECENT lake worth visiting.
What you've listed above is to the extent of what you can do here though... that's our problem we have with this place. You can only list around 10 activities that you can only do here, 5 of those beign evolved around drinking and getting extremely wasted (tubing, bars, etc). We have been SPOILED (if you look at it this way) with a huge array of activities to choose from, such as... cultural events, flea markets, good food, hiking, driving, viewing scenery, skiing-snowboarding-beach-lake-ocean all within 2 hrs driving (well, for Californians), clubs that actually have people dancing (we're talking 90% of the people), big city with an assortment of stores (I can't even buy a friggin filter for my SLR camera because there ARE NO CAMERA STORES HERE...and don't say Ritz Camera because it's an overpriced retail chain that barely even stocks UV or Polarizer filters for SLRs)...sushi restaurants (with edible sushi)...Mexican food...etc etc etc...
The bottom line is, if you haven't grown up with the amenities of a civilized location, you will enjoy Grand Forks.
