Eclipse reopens it's doors.

I never followed the Eclipse religiously, but I figured they were done when Williams was out of the equation. IIRC, Eclipse wanted a billion pounds of thrust out of a 10 pound engine. ;)

When Cessna announced the Mustang, I knew it was all but over for Eclipse. Cessna just had way too much experience and clout for Eclipse to compete against the Mustang... and with the Eclipse price tag climbing constantly, there was no real benefit to going for the Eclipse, IMO.

And when they started delivering planes with VFR handheld GPS units.... :whatever: (I'm pretty sure that's what I remember, I didn't look it up)

And then there's all of the stuff that Joe has brought up many times.

I've only seen one Eclipse flying around, I've seen it a few times in IMT and ESC. (Da U.P.)

Yeah, there was a Russian group that was going to do exactly that until oil prices fell down to 40 bucks a barrel or whatever the bottom used to be.

We'll see though. I think it will be a long time (perhaps after hell freezes) before people seriously consider cranking out more of them.

EMI wise, I've heard it's rock solid. Don't know much about the plane though. Everything out of Embraer, it seems to me, is rock solid on the EMI design. Very nice to test.
