Eagle Furlough announced

Exactly depending upon how things bounce back this summer this furlough might be shorter than expected if it happens at all. :nana2:

Well, if this does come to fruition. . .

If any Eagle furloughee ends up in Atlanta for whatever reason, do not hesistate to drop me a line.

We can have an ASA and Eagle furlough party. First few drinks on me. Your unemployment will run out after mine does.

A few key notes from todays teleconference:

Projections for recall assuming worst case scenario.. no additional ATR's, CRJ's and no increase in attrition levels = Feb/May 2010

No more aircraft to be parked. Company is still attempting to aquire additional used ATR's but it is a lengthy process, and still working to get the money for the additional CRJ's through AMR BOD approval. Eagle wants them but nothing has been approved yet. The additional 4 ATRs would be 20 CA and 20 FO spots

TSA aircraft are being returned to us at a rate of 2 per month/ with a 2 month delay before they hit the line again.

*Displacement bid involving Captains out tomorrow

With good reason. From what I hear about their condition as they are returned there's cause for concern. Hopefully we get this sorted out before I fly a 'blue chicken'.

Do you realize how many TSA pilots are out on furlough? I can tell you its a lot more than 75, so how about you just be thankful that those "blue chickens" are back on your property and let mx take it from there.

We are thankful to be getting them back and I don't blame the TSA pilots for trashing the planes..

but they were not maintained worth a damn.. that is a fact.. and its why it takes so long to get them back online. I was up front in a TSA EMJ several months ago and have NEVER seen so many problems, MEL's and EICAS messages popping up on a takeoff. It was rediculous.. I feel bad for anyone having to fly crap like that.

The maintenance issues I've heard about the 'blue chickens' are fairly severe.

I'm not going to just be 'glad about it' when it was Eagle flying to begin with and never should have left.

Not to mention, their return means smaller EMJs are being parked. Neutral impact.

As I remember it, TSA was doing that flying as TWE out of stl long before the merger, so from my recognition, that was never Eagle flying to start with. However, this is something we could argue for about for awhile and has been argued about many times before, so instead of doing that, like I said before, just be happy with those broke pieces of crap and that its only 75 and not 175. I know that is something I would be thankful for.

May bids are out and there are 33 more hard lines then last month(2 SJU, 1 DFW ATR, 14 DFW EMJ, 3 ORD CRJ, 5 ORD EMJ, 5 JFK EMJ, 1 LGA EMJ, 2 LAX EMJ). Line value in the mid 80's for some bases, and a few lines in the 90+ range. Why are 75 (me being one) pilots being send to the street. :banghead::banghead::banghead:

I'm thankful to be one of the 75
Realize all else being equal if xjet and eagle recalled at the same time when the last eagle guy gets recalled there will still be 250 people to be recalled at xjet before they get to me.

It doesnt make a damn bit of difference for today. But 6-12 months from now it'll mean a lot. So being 1 of 75 instead of 1 of 175 is actually a small blessing.

No clue. Seems to be the new thing at the regionals, though. We haven't furloughed (yet), but after the CA downgrades, pretty much every RSV CA in MEM broke guarantee.

For the month of March just about all RSV CA's broke MMG, and not just by a few(90+). We have had to already JM this month. Next month with 20 downgrades and adding 33 lines. That means 53 less CA's. :banghead:

Also a key fact here is percentage. The 175 at TSA is damn near 30-40% of their group. The 250 at Xjet is a lot more of the group then 75 of what 2500 pilots at AE? Yes it sucks, but in the big picture management is doing what they have to do in order to save cost. Now it sounds like middle management got hit the hardest at AE am I wrong? I thought that cut was much larger then the 75 FO's whom are being let go?

After being through a furlough and on the street for7 months. I have just had a lot of time to look back over the past 3 years of my career. And to be honest, I am just grateful I got the shot to fly at the 121 level with the experience I had. Being on the street if anything made me stronger and more appreciative of the job I no longer had.
