"Doug Taylor Stole My Jumpseat!"

Eh, given a choice I'd rather have "Doug Tayloring" be used to describe a casual period of downtime where there were lots of pictures of sophisticated food that was sliced on the bias (does sausage even have a bias?), good coffee, and the use of some sort of command interpreter.

I'd much rather prefer this definition of being D-Tizzles
rather than anything else! :)

I got "DT'd" on southwest yesterday. Already strapped in an everything... good times. The guy seemed mad at me too. Oh well

"Aw man, they Taylored you from the jumpseat."

"Wow, you just got Taylored"

"Nope, its overbooked. They're gonna have to Taylor you off"

Although a different spelling but the word tailor kind of fits the situation. :D

My two favorite lines:

Airline A: screaming "Doug, you're going to let the agent screw me?!"

and

Airline C: "Do the right thing."

I can just picture airline c guy saying this, with the raised eyebrow of disapproval you might get from your father. Hilarious!

This is why $350/month on my chevron card and 6 hours in the truck every week are worth skipping out on the airline commute. I had a 4 hour, middle seat EWR-IAH deadhead today that further reinforced this concept. On the upside I got to watch 200x "nurse jackie" (starring edie falco), glee, and bones previews because I'm too cheap to pay the $6 for TV. How some of you guys do the 4+ hour flights twice a week I do not know. You have my respect and admiration.

Are you still IAH based? Or did you get displaced to ORD?

I will NOT miss commuting. It's almost to the point, if our Chicago base closes, I'll quit.

I wouldn't really quit, which is why I said almost. After six years of commuting ORD-EWR and MDW-SAT, I'm done with it for a while. It's been pure hell.

You FINALLY got ORD?

You FINALLY got ORD?

Still in IAH thankfully. No one got displaced to ORD. It actually went fairly senior for FO's and there were enough captains who voluntarily wanted it to avoid displacements. Plus we have a few classes of new upgrades (re-upgrades) who are going to fill out the rest of the slots.

You FINALLY got ORD?

Yup. I'm on day two of four of my last trip in EWR. I was awake for 20 hours yesterday, with commuting, delays, storms, maintenance flights, taxis, etc... Now I'm in OMA, delayed 1.5 hours going to EWR. We won't get to Canada until 1:00 or 2:00 in the morning.

EWR is definitely sending me out in style. I hope I never have to return.

Instead you'll be getting into Fargo and Green Bay at 1/2 in the morning...Oh and the plane will be filthy with an overflowing lav.....Welcome to Yo-Nited! ;-)

Boy after reading through all of this, this DT guy sounds like a real ass.

He is? You know who else is? This guy from south of Salt Lake named Joe. Absolute ass, and I can't believe he's tricked this really nice woman into marrying him.
