Dogs barking vs Kids screaming which is more aggravating?

So on a flight to Orlando this morning to start my vacation I had the double whammy. A baby screaming/crying and a little yappy dog barking constantly at 5 second intervals from the time we got on the plane to the time we got off. It prompted me to wonder, which is more annoying? Personally, as much as I love dogs, I was ready to kick a doggy field goal by about level off. So, what do you guys think?

If noises bother you (using "you" in a general all-encompassing way, not speaking specifically only to the original poster), wear earplugs or use a noise-canceling headset.

Airplanes are today's mass transportation, and you're GOING to find people (and maybe even animals) that do things to annoy you.

Screaming kids on a MCO flight? No way! I never would have thought! :sarcasm:

Don't want to be around the masses? Drive, fly your own plane or use NetJets :)

Both are bad, I would use earphones, thankfully animals are not allowed to fly on Air Jamaica, and as for kids they always seem quiet on my flights so I just put on the headphones and listen to reggae for 3 and a half hours:)

I would have feared for the pax if Lloyd was on that flight. As it is, a passenger was booted as I was asking the CA for a seat. Not sure what the issue was but he was screaming and arguing and they were about to call security before he was escorted off by the gate folks. Coincidentally, that makes two flight in a row I've non-revved on with a passenger either getting booted off the plane or denied boarding. I'm bad luck for crews when I non-rev I guess...

Now add "cawing" crows into the equation and I would kill myself....I HATE CROWS IN THE MORNING!

I just bought this thing for the yappy dogs that live next door. It puts out 120Db ultrasonic sound. Shuts it up pretty fast and its stopped parking so much/ at all. I wonder if it will work for kids?:sarcasm:

A yappy dog on a flight would be bad but I'll take that over howling kids any day. I refused to fly with our kids until they were old enough to be over that due to the number of flights I suffered with SBS. Hard on the parents, hard on your fellow passengers and hard on the kids.:panic::panic::panic::panic::panic:I couldn't imagine a flight with both screaming kids and yapping dogs. Your commended for not begging the FA for extra pillows to "stifle" the noise.

Oh yes....that video solidifies my decision to NOT have kids!!! :)

Nothing worse than a screaming/crying kid. I'll take the yapping dog any day of the week. I still support a "kids section" of the cabin to keep these brats and their parents away from the rest of us.

To fully appreciate my barking dog this morning, you have to consider that it was a very similar three bark sequenced every few seconds. Akin to chinese water torture. Occasional barking in and of itself isn't all that bad but it was a constantly repeating pattern almost like someone had a tape recorder and kept looping it!!

Of course once I turned the volume up on my ipod - problem solved. :)

Maybe not, at least you know there's a seat for you. :)

Personally I can't stand kids, they need to be the ones bound and muzzelled.

Both are bad. When I was returning to school after break I was on a plane with two dogs:banghead: Atleast they were quiet.

:yeahthat: It still amazes me to this day--but when I was a gate agent, I went onboard an MCO bound plane and actually heard an older "gentleman" say VERY loudly, "Gee why didn't anyone tell me this was "kiddie express?" WTF? I was thisclose to telling him to charter out his own plane if it bothered him so much. That being said, babies cry for a reason and the parent should be smart enough to be prepared to handle ANY situation to calm the infant. Out-of-control kids on the other hand, are usually the fault of the parent who just doesn't give a #### about anybody else and would rather not deal with it. :rolleyes:
