Nope, no hotels provided.
(usually it is much harder to find employees than jobs in my business though)
I don't disagree. Just stating the facts. In a crappy job market, they don't exactly have to go out of their way to make people happy to get them to come to training. It sucks.
We still pay for hotels, Jepps, and uniforms during training. They finally had to when the pool of guys dried up. You guys should get that changed. That shouldn't be allowed at this level in our profession.
I know a crappy freight carrier that buys hotel rooms for FNGs, full per diem from day one.
Mesa?Yep, I know a second rate regional that flies guys to their interview AND gives them a hotel while they are there. They also pay for single occupancy hotel rooms through out all of training and pay 100% + 100% guarantee from day 1 of training.

No offense to the guys that will soon be newhires, but I can think of far better uses of negotiating leverage than free hotel rooms for guys in Indoc. Especially when it's only a benefit that half of the pilots will use, and the company would make you fight hard for it, since they don't want to give much of anything to a guy on probation.
Where do you draw the line? What about making new guys pay for their training? I mean, it's not really worth wasting leverage on that either.
