Do you know your history? (part XII)

Thanks, Ohio...

This airplane also fits into the equation... somewhere...

Figure out what it is and you have a good start on the others.

hmm.... all designed by Al Mooney?... owned by Al Mooney perhaps?

We have established the "common thread".

Excellent.

Now, what are they?

(From first post)
Ohio knows what the first one is, but is keeping mum...

We know what number 2 is... shout it out anyway...

Still looking for number 3 and 4...

And for the one I just posted...
hint, hint (Part XIV)

It is... Now, Ohio mentioned Concourse B (above the passengers)... can you name the airport and why that airplane would be there?

(1) is an EAA Biplane hangin in the Oshkosh museum.

(3) is a Piper Apache with turbines, tailwheel, and a twin tail

Don't know what the rest of them are but that dude in sfcc/und's picture is Dale Earnhardt!!

Wow, I get distracted by building da vinci on TV and look what happened! #1 is an Alexander Eaglerock... ok now... DIA's main terminal is named after Jeppesen, right? The Eaglerock is in Concourse B... Jeppesen was based in Denver, as was the Alexander Company (which strangely enough was a film company)... and the Alexander Company gave rise to Al Mooney... I'm missing a connection somewhere!

Dang it! I knew there was something I was supposed to watch tonight! How was it?

Back on track...

To help you out... how do Al Mooney, Alexander Aircraft Company, and the Swallow fit together?

It was interesting! They built a 3 story rolling seige staircase! And they're not terribly great at making wheels... :laff:

Ok, Al Mooney, Alexander Aircraft, and Swallow... Two names and a verb... hrmmmm... :p

Yeah, saw the one last week about the tank... definite wheel problems.
Guess I will have to catch the rebroadcast this weekend.

Only if you are Linda Lovelace :nana2:

Let's just say a Swallow might have had a profound effect on young Albert... hint, hint...

okay, it took some research I wont lie.

When Al Mooney was a young man he diagnosed a rigging problem on a Laird Swallow that he followed to a field. The Swallow's owner, J. Alexander, was so impressed he hired Mooney to help him build airplanes.

Alright... we have established Al Mooney as the "common thread"...

We have tied the Swallow to Mooney and Mooney to Alexander Aircraft...

Now, how does he fit with the big Bellanca?

And the rest of the yet to be named aircraft?

Oh crap, I forgot there was more. And I thought we were doing so well to get this far!

Ok, so Mooney became chief engineer for bellanca after he was with alexander... and following that, he worked for lambert to create the model G dart which would be the final aircraft pictured! *crossed fingers*
