I am wondering how AA/DL will contact
you for interviews. I have seen majors
email or call people. So I am just
curious if anyone has been contacted
yet. Thanks

When I was interviewed by American a couple years ago, I received a telephone call from one of the managers.

From what I have heard, you will receive a call from a AA hiring manager. As they have slightly been changing their interview process as they push forth with "The New American" it may be different. I do know for some of the current positions they are currently recruiting and hiring for, the first step is a webcam/video interview. This helps reduce costs while they will offer a face to face to the most competitive candidates.

DL HR will email you contact into to set up testing dates. If you're local you'll do the tests then be called with results a week or so later to set up interviews with flight control personnel. . If you not local to ATL they set you up in the morning for the tests and if you pass they give you and interview time with Flight control in the afternoon.

AA is supposed to call you. Rumour has it they will start calling for the test and interview next week but AA supposedly only had 100 applications off the street along with 30 additional applications from Eagle so they are extending the application period by a few days to see if they can get more people to apply.

Well, seeing as how the posting was removed already... I don't see it being extended. It was down exactly when they said it would be. Perhaps they will repost. I think the issue more experienced dispatchers had was the starting pay. If you have even the slightest seniority at a regional, you would be taking a pay cut.

RE: Delta

Anyone know when they'll begin callouts/emailing candidates they're interested in? I applied a few weeks ago and my status still shows "Under Review". I've been checking my e-mail like a madman, even on Sundays, and I've checked the DL website once or twice a week since I applied.

Eagle is also planning on another class before the end of the year... I think they are going to wait to see just how many go over to AA.

I have heard that AMR will begin interviewing internal applicants (which I imagine includes Eagle) next week. External applicants should expect to hear something around the week after.

I would imagine the merger being on hold might have changed their plans some - but they could have a need to hire anyway. Who gets hired when always seems to be a bit unpredictable in my experience. At any rate, good luck to all of those who get a call.

Internals started getting calls today. I was offered and co-workers were offered an August 29th date for an interview with sessions in morning and afternoon. Call comes from AA HR.

AA did not receive that many applications off the street from what everyone has been hearing down here at Eagle. 25-30 from Eagle applied plus other AE/AA/AMR internals. The number we have heard was only 60 applied from off the street.

Probably because guys at regionals would be taking a pay cut to go work there initially. Their pay rate is just terrible initially. I know that a new contract is in the works and I am sure all those that have been with AA will finally be paid appropriately.
