Delta's new safety video

Someone has to do something to overshadow Parker's gaffe that cost investors a ton of money from his appearance on Cramer.

I'd love to see an old-school style black & white one with retro uniforms and a "throwback" feel to it.

I doubt the airline wants their pax to wax nostalgic for the good ole days.....why remind people how crammed and horrible their service is?

I leave CNBC on all day in the office, but it goes off promptly at 6 when Cramer goes on. What did Doogie do?

Well, I guess he went on Cramer, threatened a fare war with Delta if they continued expansion in central and south America. Then something about too much capacity just as SWA was adding larger jets (incr. capacity) and some other airlines were showing capacity increases.

There was quite a bit of stuff and uncareful words tanked transports for a couple days.

No big deal. But if you're going to denigrate your competitors, better hope you've worn clean underwear.

And yet the AMR guys in my Crashpad were sure Doug was going to be the answer to their problems when the merger was announced. Apparently they had been living under a rock for the last decade.

First time through, made me laugh a little. Given I hear these things multiple times a week, it makes me think of grabbing a beer and popping the slide. Then again, it gives me a good reason to take a sip of my scotch and close my eyes repeating "Guess I picked the wrong day to give up scotch"

I cant imagine what it is like to be crew and listen to these things all the time. No thanks.

I get why Delta, or any other airline, would do this. Take a dry subject that most people don't pay attention too anyway and liven it up a bit. There's probably a PR angle to it as well, given that's is been released publicly.

While I'd consider myself pretty up to date on most stuff trending on the net, I was only able to recognize maybe half of the memes represented.

Once upon a time, I worked at a coal mine. Part of my duties were to provide the safety briefing to people visiting the site for the first time. It consisted of a video explaining what the various hazards were and how best to avoid them. After about four, maybe five times, I just tuned out the video. I'd imagine it's the same with cabin crew.
