I don't want to make it sound like I believe there is a conspiracy here, but it almost sounds like the counteroffer is "insufficient to ensure competition" because it doesn't involve Southwest, or at least gives Southwest a chance.
I'm just saying... :dunno:
SWA deserves a "chance"? In a "deregulated" industry? Why should they be (essentially) GIVEN access to a market that 5 years ago they couldn't have cared less about. Now all of a sudden, they must be afforded the right to fly there and get access to slots bought and paid for by other companies... Oh.. and before you get into that "competition" thing... I haven't seen many ads lately touting "THE lowfare airline"... maybe because it just isn't true anymore.
