Delta Takes Delivery of Its First A321

It's got a stick… just like a fighter jet.
Just don't fly it like a fighter jet. Drives me crazy when I see guys gripping the stick like someone is about to pry it from their hands, and then precedes to fly their passenger jet like they were playing Jane's Fighters Anthology.

"That bogey just jinked on ya! Roll into him, put your lift vector on him and pull! SHOOT EEM IN DA FACE! GO GO GO!"

It's plumbed for optional aux tanks like fighter jets, too.

Similar to messages for their targets scribbled onto bombs, perhaps detachable A-321 drop tanks could accumulate some drop-zone-based graffiti.

During pre-flight prep on a flight from, say, ATL to PDX, ramp crews could could write lighthearted, morale-boosting notes to the folks around the Memphis area, who would be wise to not be directly underneath a passing A-321 a few hours later as it jettisons it's first pair of depleted drop tanks in order to step climb from FL280 to FL300.

"west memphis targeted"

"roger.. jettison tanks on my mark." .... "mark"

"climb to FL230, continue on the ERLIN."

You gots to go lower tech if you want to low tech me....nuthin' like ordering a pizza, driving to go get it and eating it while the cassette taped loaded.

Wasn't that low tech. This was my "almost failed out of college" excuse. Fire up the Commodore 64, have that new pizza place, "Papa John's" deliver a pie, and binge out!
