Delta TA

I don't get their sentiment. We're workers. It's not like the company gives a poop what mere pilots think!

Oh come on now, your pilot group is masters of that sentiment and rightfully so!

Remember Comair? Your pilot group repaid the deplorable action they had of making your furloughees resign their Delta seniority numbers as when they were shutting down your pilot group wouldn't lift a finger to help them.

Animosity and yes even hatred does exist between pilot groups.

Since when were us stooge-like copilots not allowed to use the PA?

"Hey man, may I welcome 'em aboard?" "Knock yourself out, kid."

It is my understanding that at 'Merican the FO can't make any announcements.

Furthermore, do your 'team members' (your phrase) at the 'industry leading' (once again your words) regional NOT make welcome aboard announcements as a matter of habit? That is extraordinarily unprofessional as a matter of habit.

Even at Colgan (which by no means was 'industry leading') we made it a point to welcome the passengers aboard.

Also, if a coworker called me a kid, I would have a few choice words for them.

At AA certain announcements can be delegated, but on a typical flight the Captain makes all the PAAs. (Even more comical is the CA does all the briefings, which can be delegated). I think on the Electra the Mic for the PA was only on the left side.

This really better be good.

Dear Fellow Pilot,

This afternoon, the Delta MEC Negotiating Committee successfully reached a tentative agreement (TA) with Delta Air Lines.

This agreement represents the culmination of tremendous effort on your behalf. We have been engaged in negotiation preparation and execution for a full year, with incredible dedication from our negotiators, professional staff, subject matter experts and your elected representatives.

As a function of process within the Delta MEC Policy Manual, your elected representatives will now have TA language in their possession for seven days. We will meet, and if they approve the agreement, it will be made available to the Delta pilots for membership ratification.

I understand the desire by many to seek details of the agreement in advance, but I ask that you allow your elected leadership the ability to fully study and understand the agreement. It’s a critical step in this time-honored process of Section 6 negotiations. And if they approve this agreement, you will receive full details and language prior to voting. This will also come in the form of Negotiator Notepads, roadshows and webinars. Your elected local council representatives and Pilot-to-Pilot volunteers will be in pilot lounges to answer questions, and provide information to each of you personally. In short, you will have all the facts prior to casting your vote.

If the MEC approves the tentative agreement, it is incumbent on you to take the time needed to evaluate the agreement in its entirety. It is also important that every one of you take the time to vote. It is your responsibility to your profession and your families to participate in our process.

Fraternally,

What's your point? Seems like you're beating around the bush. Are you saying there are antiquated practices at AA? If so, you are more than correct. It is a big concern that all the work toward good CRM is heading out the window.

Two points.

-That 'Merican has their heads up their ass when it comes to CRM.

- @Autothrust Blue even though he works at an 'industry leading' regional has some pretty unprofessional 'team' members if they aren't making the welcome aboard announcement as a habit.

One- you're right.

Two- didn't know. thought he was here at AA

Thought you were a DL guy a while ago. You corrected me. (Not too kindly) :)

Where I work the FO makes the Welcome aboard/pleased be seated announcement. Some Captains switch with FO every other leg doing the cruise announcement.
