Delta orders some Airbuses. Airbii? Airbux?

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who scratched my head on that one. You would think commonality would help reduce cost.
Yeah we'll be the first airline in the U.S. to operate the CF6-80E1 which is built specifically for the A330. At least we're sticking with the CFM's for the A321s. the one good thing about the new CF6-80E1 will be the On Point support from GE. We have the same program for the GE90s. We actually just got reimbursed for when a 777 lost an engine en-route back to ATL from Johannesburg and had to make an divert to Ascension Island. It's a nice program.

Is the 80E1 more powerful than the Pratt 40xx (4080?) on the current 330s?

You are flipping scaring me.

I went through the LOD's for the sections I finished on the flash drive and I thought "Holy hell man, I'm behind! :("

No single engine taxiout on the megapoodle. :) Don't have to worry about that stuff!

My first pass through the LOD is always a disaster. It gets better after a couple more goes!

Funky... there is a BSCU/LGCIU software update that prevents any funkiness on the gen changeover. We don't have to worry about hard switches anymore.

Prior to the update, it was advised to get off the tiller and brakes for the gen changeover. I had one captain that still was slightly on the brakes when it hit (despite coordination).... they grabbed momentarily. It felt like we had hit a tree stump!

Now with the new software, it's way mo better. :)

Our Enhanced ones probably have that software, but that's the procedure we've been using for years. Even before I select Gen 2 on, I advise the Captain to watch the brakes and tiller. I'm new, on probation and don't know any different. I'll do what the boss wants.

Wait to you get to ELACs/FACs etc. Alternate law, Direct Law, Mechanical back-up is a fun mind screw too.

I'm totally lost!

"Smile and nod, bro! Smile and nod!"

On a related note, what's this I'm hearing about the governor of Georgia (DL) is really upset with Pratt and Whitney, and so the selection of GE's motors were inevitable?

Not true. GE provides better customer support and offered a better price. Rolls Royce on the other hand....

Speaking of Gen switchovers, I love the chime on the mad dog when they turn on a gen after engine start. It is usually during the safety brief, so I like to pretend the flight attendant just dropped a dirty word.

"Please place your *BONG* underneath the seat in front of you."
