Delta/Endeavor SSP Extended to All Pilots

I heard go jet is getting 7 900s for delta time to up the retention bonus to 50,000 per year because if that is true here comes more attrition

That further proves my point that the retention program is just kicking the can down the road. That also nixes any possibility of the undisclosed 24 CR9 order being for any DL carrier.

Are you going to stay in the training department or head back to the like eventually?

We have the 2-5 year tenure thing.... I'm just taking it one step at a time! I'll be able to go on a normal 2 month teach/1 month fly cycle starting an April which I'm really looking forward to. I'm an airline pilot because I love flying airplanes!

Holy crap, you flew with that guy too? I flew with a Captain who told me, straight faced on our first leg that I would be the last FO he flew with. He had bought like $2000 worth of Iraqi dinars and they were supposed to be valued the next week at 500 times the value. He was certain he was going to walk away with a $10 million dollar profit. Went on to be one of the worst Captains and worst trips I had ever had.
Ah yes back in the line bidding days I flew a whole month with him until I got sick the last week. ;) Spent the whole day telling me how rich he was going to be then asked a his 1st year fo (me) to spot him 10$ at dinner. Worst month I've had here.

Why did you go to dinner with that scumbag?
That is a very good question. I think it was one of those learning experiences that we all have when we are new. It was our first day flying together and I guess I figured I would give him the benefit of the doubt. After that nite I don't think we talked much and I never ate at Shoney's again.

How many times did he nap in the cockpit?

This particular phrase always results in me sleeping in the car. Avoid if possible.

No doubt. No way am I ditching my now cushy, drive to work A320 FO gig for a "commute to BOS" E190 CA gig.....especially after the month they're having up there.

*Opinion may change in a few years, but as of right now I don't have 2 ex-wives and a boat to pay for, so I don't NEED the money.....

Did you three make it official? :)

The SSP was just extended to all 2015 hires to date, with a separate announcement for future new hires to come in the next couple of weeks.

MEC Reaches TA on Delta Interview Program for 2015 Hires

In light of record profits at mainline carriers and robust hiring forecasts, we know that many of our pilots are focused on career progression. As you are no doubt aware, our current career progression path, the SSP, originally applied only to those pilots who were on our property at the time of the bankruptcy concessions. The amendment to the Bridge Agreement that became effective earlier this year further extended the SSP to those pilots on property as of its date of signing, January 6, 2015.

At that time, management also indicated that Delta was exploring the manner in which it might implement a future program to attract new hires by guaranteeing a Delta interview to Endeavor Air pilots who were not covered by the SSP. Indeed, many of our recently-hired pilots were told by the company that some type of guaranteed interview program was being developed.

The MEC advised management that a Letter of Agreement formalizing an interview program for our existing pilots who were not covered by the SSP was both important and appropriate. Therefore, we are pleased to announce that we have reached a Tentative Agreement (TA) with the company that would create a modified SSP (to be called the “Updated SSP” or “uSSP”) for pilots currently on the seniority list, but who are not eligible for the SSP or EtD.

Like the SSP, the uSSP provides for a one-day interview process, and allows those pilots hired between January 7, 2015, and July 1, 2015, to apply immediately. uSSP interviews would be scheduled in seniority order among applicants following completion of SSP interviews. Many pilots expressed to us that they felt there was value in achieving a single-day interview opportunity and in knowing whether they were successful Delta candidates sooner rather than later, and in that regard this program resembles the SSP.

The uSSP differs from the SSP by including a service requirement–meaning a pilot who receives a CJO under the uSSP will not be offered a Delta class date until he serves 2 years as an Endeavor Captain. While the MEC would have preferred to avoid a service requirement, we are also aware that the vast majority of successful SSP candidates will have served well over 5 years as a pilot at Endeavor prior to starting class at Delta, and this requirement will essentially enable Endeavor to achieve a like amount of service from the pilots hired over the past 6 months. Once uSSP pilots have completed their required service, they will move to Delta at a rate of 12 per month, measured similarly to the SSP.

Pilots who are hired after July 2015 will be eligible for a separate guaranteed interview program at Delta. We anticipate that the company will announce the details of that program within the next few days.

Hopefully the upgrade times will drop like they're suppose to, the long term FOs can get on with the old SSP, and the log jam can finally burst.

Sometimes you just have to say "Dude, I need you to stop talking now. I'm going to look out my window at the pretty fluffy clouds for the next 4 hours to LA, and if you need anything, I'm right here", meanwhile, you are trying to figure out how to tell Derg "dude, you were so f'in right about taking the upgrade".
