Delta Connection: Operated by GoJet Airlines

To the Acey guys on here, what is your union saying about this if you can discuss? Also what is managements position on this matter also? As an OH guy I know all to well how these tactics work.

Isn't this true for any regional airline?

Oh, are we still pretending every regional airline is bad and bottom feeding? OK everyone give it all up, this is all folly, it's not worth bringing up the bar any because we aren't making what guys were in the 60's. Pack it up ALPA, Teamsters, every bottom feeding regional union, move along. The end is nigh!

LOL...bringing up the bar. How's that going? Does mainline have scope back? Do first officers make more then mcdonalds employees now, how long does it take to bring this bar up?

Still hiding behind the screen name I see...

ALPA carriers are aloud to bring up the bar, forgive & forget, but god forbid a non-union, in house shop tries to bring up the bar, asks for peers to forgive and forget and all you get is dooooommmmm!

Do elaborate...

Don't know how many different ways I can say it.
Gojets=bad when started and for years afterwards. Nowadays I can't find fault in someone for going there for whatever reason they may have.
Colgan=bad but now they aren't Colgan anymore. I can't find fault with people that go there now but I can when guys went there when they had the opportunity to go to any other airline during the hiring boom of days gone by.
Even today when people can basically pick and chose where they work there are quality places to work. Are they perfect? No. By no means. But then again what is perfect? A cool million a year, work 10 days a month, smoking hot flight attendants that cater to your every perverted desire on the 24 hour overnights in exotic locales? Lets be realistic here.
When picking a regional to fly for you need to pick one with the mindset that it may be the last flying job you ever have. Seriously (lets face it, not everyone is going to making it to-cue drum roll-The Majors!). When you look at it from that point of view you realize some places out there are just total black holes. Some are less so and some aren't half bad.

Back to the original point that some made-I'm not going to voice a vote to denying these guys the jump seat. I harbor no ill will towards them.

Hiding behind the screen name? Sorry James, I haven't made a website up for my instruction (although I am an instructor), nor have I professed by undying allegiance to GoJets but I do still dream of cuddling up you at night and playing big spoon. But James, what if we just aren't meant to be together, like star crossed lovers? More importantly I'm wondering why my post made you think that I am hiding behind something, is this something you've always felt? We are doing relationship counselling- well really I do it you just sit there with your arms folded bitching you don't want to be there- maybe if you talked about some of this stuff there instead of here we wouldn't be paying $90 a week for this hour long sessions. Sometimes I just don't think you put in any effort at all.

I don't know what McDonalds employees go for these days but if it's more that 23k (no per diem) with a potential of making 34k* (no per diem) then no. Keep in mind that's no per diem (extra 5 grand or so if your a line holder) nor any training which sometimes can be a little extra if you are bidding reserve.

*Numbers assumed this line holders current month + projection for my 15 hour 2 trip coming up of guarantee (probably add another 40 bucks if you care). $4412 this month with pay rate of 39.96. 15 days off, 22 nights at home, 102:01 credits, mid level FO respective of base on CRJ-900. Easy way is to set a ratio of 110.41 and use that when computing the high side of the equation which I did here. So take the 25.92*110.41*12 for a yearly amount. Keep in mind if you get in on the Saab the equation is a little different but you're still going to be able to pick up time as a lineholder and the Saab's may not always be so bad (or they could be parked all together so moot conversation, it's dying equipment and no one does well on dying equipment, I really think we just need someone to pick us up on contract and keep them flying). I have about $486 coming to me in per diem this month and all that added up without all the rounding stuff I've done is $4899.13.

Look, starting guys make more than 18k these days at some companies. Most of the captains I fly with on the (10-20 year guys)-900 are making between 90-120k (obviously if they wanted to, they could really blow that number up but most are QOL guys) a year and the money gets better every year with our snapbacks. I'm not ashamed of our contract nor the regionals in general, the pay is coming up a little at a time.

As far as mainline taking scope back, what does that have to do with us at the regionals? Is it our responsibility to push mainline guys to take their flying back? I have them in the jumpseat regularly and it's overwhelmingly anti-scope and declaring they want nothing to do with our equipment. Nothing. I've had a minority of mainline jumpseaters who want the RJ's back and the other minority who want to give us more so they can get a pay raise. Mainline pilots don't want our flying and I don't know how to convince them that they do want it. What do you want me to do exactly? What are any of us suppose to do? IF mainline wants the scope back they will take it, and God bless them. I'd love to make $78 an hour second year on this thing!

How long will it take? I assume by "it" you mean the FO's beating McDonald's employees? If a burger flipper makes $7.64 he's gotta work about 250 hours a month to make base pay (keep in mind the reserve guy isn't working just sitting at home watching pron). If the burger flipper boss makes $10.50 an hour, and I think they do, then it's about 182 hours a month, but those managers don't get OT so I think they can't make as much. There are 728 (24*7*52/12) hours in a month right? Assuming 7 hours of sleep a night in that month and 30 min back and forth to work and a 30 min lunch break you are looking at 16 hours a day so that's 485 hours a month of work, we've just got to get these FO's above $3700 a month base pay. Right now at $1944 base pay, doing nothing, every night at base.

We can do it people! No we can't, we are all bottom feeders, just give up!

ALPA carriers are aloud to bring up the bar, forgive & forget, but god forbid a non-union, in house shop tries to bring up the bar, asks for peers to forgive and forget and all you get is dooooommmmm!

Allowed?

IS GoJet's asking for forgiveness? All I see and hear are GoJet's apologists.

And I thought GoJet's was teamsters now?

Gojet is an ideal partner for Delta. A senior employee at Gojet is at 6 year pay. Must be cheap. Just sucks for the rest of us

Where is this supposed Shangri-La of professions where they don't sit around and complain about the job? :)

No Shangri-La, that's my point...every job sucks. This sort of stuff happens in every profession all the time. I just like watching the panties get bunched up...whislt wearing my hat.

Oh, the "I'm buying GOLDzzzz!!!" "OMG, Donut Spammer!" or the "It is preposterous that the 777 pays more than the A330" crowds? :) Oh and the dorks that can't seem to figure out the quote-a-post feature and the post looks like something off of a Mexican Restaurant menu.

How about "I am a priest! It is the new coming of the Brothers of Prophecy, BEHOLD!" guy? :)

Agree with the above. Most guys have either no sense of humor, take themseves WAY too seriously, or are just pissed off at the whole universe. The rest are there for ALPA Crowd Control.

Barely a half dozen good wise acres cracking the wise out of 12,000+ guys/gals. That's slim pickings for a guy used to heckling the merits of the game "Gnip-Gnop" and other obscura with his buds.

I was going to post the funny I made at my ex's church (and probably what got me divorced), but I didn't want a flaming bag-o-poo, 10,000 post "Creationism" thread landing on my doorstep.

As a former OH guy, now flying for Surejet, I also know all to well about this little game DL likes to play. It's like '08 all over again when we at Comair lost planes to Freedom.

The company never really stated that these aircraft would go to GJ, only that we are losing 8 Cincinnati based planes in February. I guess by Cincinnati based DL means they want them in CVG?!

Our MEC did respond to the loss of the aircraft. Here is a paragraph from the email we got...

"When we turn our attention inward and examine the best ways in which to remain a cost-effective airline, one sure way to enhance (Insert New Company Name Here)’s ability to compete against all comers is to finish what we’ve started – join the combined forces of ASA and ExpressJet into a single entity and enjoy the economy of scale that comes with operating one company instead of two. In other words, let’s get this merger done!"

Hey Richman, did we ever resolve the issue of whether or not there is a Delta discount at the Cincinnati Creationist Museum? :)

I should necropost that thread back to life for comic relief!

I don't take ASCII characters on the internet too seriously. Life is too short to get all bent out of shape over stuff on the net.

Agreed. But I think necroposting still carries a mandatory -100 internets, so you gotta make sure it's worth it.

I could always drum up a post or two regarding the merits of worshoping the old Norse Gods, but I'd be playing to a very limited audience. Hardly even worth breaking out my Troll Shoes(tm).

The ex used to get all kinds of bent when I played BF:1942. I'm like "honey, it's just pixels on a screen". Some folks have a real hard time with that concept.

I think you're a little behind on trying to run Keith's career into the ground on this website. Knowing damn well that Key Lime Management probably looks at this site, why don't you throw up some more anti-company statements and attach Keith's name and route onto them. How could this go wrong? I have no respect for you at all. Never really did, but have none now. Don't screw with someones career, may come back to bite you in the ass if you know what I mean.

Honestly the way Keith jumped all over me flaunting how much knowledge he had about the situation, how screwed my friends were supposedly I didn't think the guy was really anything more than a management stooge. ON TOP OF THAT I reported my own and his posts too for putting names out there in the open. Didn't I say at one point "Considering actual names are being released shouldn't we flush this thread" or something close?

Keith advertised himself loudly as "the PUB pilot", furthermore in messages to me he told me in no uncertain terms "I know who your friends are I've been talking to everyone and we've figured it out". He said something about one type of airplane or another and I believe at one time alluded it would be some guy that just upgraded after him. He was so far off track I had to let him keep going on it to protect my friends, he seemed fairly angry and willing to run other peoples career into the ground. Let's face it, I didn't read him that wrong did I?

As far as you not having respect for me James, I promise that's my litmus test to see how well I'm doing as a person. If you are upset I must be doing something right.

As much as a management pilots that Keith was, how could the company possibly get over his case? He defended them and their practices to the death!

On another vein. After what happened on this thread to CalCapt (sp?), shouldn't we ALL be doing our best to keep our names off the internet?

Wow, this thread sure went down hill fast. I never ceases to amaze me how strong opnions run in these kinds of threads. Funny thing is, I don't remember seeing too much of it in other kinds of flying. Sure there is some, but it always seems to turn into a pissing contest when guys start talking about who's airline is better, which one is the bottom feeder, and why someone can't ride the jumpseat.

I have said it before, as have others. If ya'll would stop working against each other, and start working with each other, some good changes could be made. But it seems that management over the years (before my time, and before the time of MANY here on the boards), has pitted everyone against each other. It doesn't seem to be something new, as in it's been going on for decades now. Maybe my view is a little different, because I am an oustsider looking in, but a lot of what goes on in the 121 side of the industry is spelled out on these boards, and others just like these.

Bottom line, if there was as much time spent trying to change things, as there was bitching about things, the change would actually happen!
