Delta and MD-90

I rode on an ex-Song 75 from ATL-DEN three years ago and it was pretty comfy (it was actually still in the pink Song livery). The seats felt wider to me for some reason.

Are there any of those still kicking around?

That is ship 610, and it is not a pink Song livery, it is the BreastCancer Awareness paintjob. The interior is the same as every other domestic 757 on line.

Last I'd heard, it wasn't in the pink anymore, and they're in the process of putting one of the 764's into the Breast Cancer paintjob.

As of three weeks ago, when I flew it last, it was still pink. THere is a 764 in the Habitat for Humanity and one in the SkyTeam already though.

80% of the time I have no idea what livery the plan I'm flying has.

Ship 610 is in the new colors, there's a pic on a.net. The 764 is supposed to be out by the 25th of May according to the Delta press release.

Well dang! That was the only 757 that I haven't flown yet and I wanted to fly it in the pink colors.

Last trip I flew a fNWA 757 from JFK-SEA. It was a little different up front and it took a bit to get used to. The back end was really different and it felt like I was getting on the wrong airplane.

Have you guys integrated crews yet, or just the 757 fleet?

Yep, as far as pilots we are one big happy family. The FAs are still separate however. Although, when I flew that fNWA plane it came with fNWA FAs as well. They were a great crew to work with.

Are we talking about the same one? It said Song on it and had blue leather seats, and seatback video screens (I played that trivia game all the way to DEN).

Of course you certainly know better than I do....I rode from JAC to ATL on one in December, and I can't remember if the seats were leather or not. Definitely no video screens though.

EDIT: After some furious A.Netting, I see what you're saying. It used to be the Song Breast Cancer awareness plane, now it's just the Widget Breast Cancer Awareness plane....enough a.net geeking, time for more coffee...

Hey Guys,

Front end crews are integrated, but are mostly still "clumped" together due to the demographics of the bases (if you're in DTW, you're probably going to fly with a fNW guy...ditto for ATL for fDAL).

A fair number of guys are starting to trickle out of training...you'll start to see a lot more fDAL guys on the 320/330, and more fNW guys on the MD-88 and the 737.

The 757/767 is a different animal, since it's now one big happy category and you can wind up with anyone and flying anything. My last trip I left my base on the first leg, and didn't see it again until the last leg, flying all sorts of DAL 757s and passing through ATL and SLC.

Right now, DAL birds are flown with DAL FAs, and NW birds with NWA FAs despite who is in the front end. This is getting ready to change, and you might find NWA FAs on a DAL bird, BUT, there is still no mixing of the FA crews due to representation issues.

My three day later this week is JFK-SFO, SFO-MSP-LAS, LAS-JFK. I'm looking forward to passing through a fNWA base.

I was just assigned the balance of a DTW 767ER rotation since the fNWA FO sicked out. Looking forward to it, although the DH back to ATL only connects to the last flight home and it's oversold:(

Yeah, as far as I know, they are doing exactly that. I've heard there are quite a few of them in GSO getting outfitted and prepared for service, but I don't know anything for sure. Wouldn't surprise me to see them end up with all of the remaining MD-90's worldwide (minus the 27 specially equipped for the Saudi's)

As of yesterday, 3 China MD-90's are still sitting over on the MX side of airport.

There are some "Hello Air" MD-90's also over there. Are these part of this plan also or are they just other work for Timco over there?

From the discussion that has been going on for months over at airliners.net, I'd assume they are all destined for Delta. But, I don't have anything that confirms that for sure, so what do I know. I'd guess that eventually Delta will end up with all the remaining MD-90's, minus the 27 or so Saudi equipped planes, and maybe the 1 or 2 that were built in China.

I miss the 737 we get the scarebus and the crap dawgs 90 up here. We had a MD 90 that broke down and it sat here for four days. We had four different mx that came up here and they couldn't figure what the problem was.

The Hello and Air China MD-9s were bought by Delta. With the exception of the 27 Saudi 90s, DAL is trying to get their hands on every 90 built. The Saudi overheads are sufficiently different that the FAA will not allow them to be operated with the others.
