DCI Shuffle

The problem I had with the 9E hat wasn't that it was a hat. It was a poorly designed and odd looking hat. We had guys that bought hats from the Stop Over Store that were meant for Delta, tossed the 9E "belt buckle" on there and went with that. The hat itself actually looked better. Unforunately, the 9E logo was obviously not designed to go with that hat, so it looked odd. If they said "wear it," I would have. They didn't, I hated it, so I didn't. End of story. Did it make me less professional? Nope. And are we REALLY gonna start THAT whole argument over leather jacket vs blazer for the 3 millionth time?
No, because the leather jacket is really only appropriate for dangerous regional turboprop guys.

(The plaque for the RJ guys is in the ladies' room. ;) :sarcasm: throughout.)

Not an argument...I wore leather without and the dinner jacket with...I am a rebel. Now I wear pants and a shirt...and maybe a reflective belt...and shoes...or boots....and maybe a ball cap...or not.

It's a matter of preference in my opinion. To me, the leather looks just fine and it's practical. I don't even own the dinner jacket here. I had one at 9E, and I wore it twice during those periods when it was too hot for the leather but we were still required to wear a jacket of some kind. Most of the guys over here opt for the leather jacket over the blazer. We might get someone killed.....

Welcome to the heavy iron my friend! :)

and then the... "WAIT!? We get food!?!?!? REALLY?"

To think less than ten years ago I was freaking out about a checkride I had just passed where the DPE was making me do insane things, and then regretting it and begging Kristie remove the post. Ugh, boy was I different back then.

I like the leather jacket, minus the damn elastic. It's good quality, and warm. By and large, people around JB seem to dress pretty well.

How are things? You and I were in the same reserve/day bucket until I moved a reserve day to Monday. Do you have that much credit because you've been picking up, or are they just using you a lot?

Or, United goes back into BK and is bought on by commutAir... All the Dash guys are stapled to the top of the list!

Well we did just buy Latitude Airways for a modest $78 million.

They promised quick upgrades in the new fleet of monster trucks.

I've been utilizing the "bid for trips in open time" feature of the new reserve rules. I haven't seen LCR since January, so I'd rather fly and get the per diem than sit in the crashpad. Sadly, that's what I'll be doing this weekend. Nothing in open time, so here I'll be sitting. I MIGHT get a trip on my last day, but that would be fine since the one trip I'm eligible for ends at like 13:15. I'm already PRL for Monday, so I'm actually thinking of bidding that trip. Then again, I'm the only one day reserve on Sunday, so I'm on deck to get it anyway. Last week, I was the 0300-1300 reserve on my last day, and I got released around noon to catch a commute home. I was shocked when I called. Took 30 seconds, and they were super cool about it.

I've got that Day in the Life training event on Wednesday, two days of reserve and then HOPEFULLY I'll be done with reserve until I can hold MCO.

I'm trying to get that 2 day starting on Sunday. I've gotta say, reserve isn't terrible here. I've been moving days like crazy.

(Sorry for thread drift)

Yikes. Enjoy DCA. And yeah, reserve has been about the same as holding a line at 9E. I may be in shock next month. :)
