DC8 Video, funny in a way, sad in a way....

Caneman's video seems to have touched a nerve around here...
As for humor, everyone's taste isn't the same. I thought some parts were funny....As for being unprofessional, I thought it was. Would you feel comfortable as a passenger on a commercial airline flight with a guy like that at the controls? - Not me...
I believe there's a time and a place for most everything. If he loves to do comedy that's fine, just do it on the ground or in a stand-up comedy club....

Hello I Am Caneman
For all the guys, lets see..I have an ATP 14000 hours, 9000 PIC, 6000 PIC Heavy Jet, ASES, Glider-CFI, and F/E. Flying is great and I never planned on quitting. In 2001 Emery Worldwide Airlines locked out all thier pilots. The got contractor's (scabs to me) to fly all the freight. They turned in thier certificate to the FAA to get out of our ALPA contract (Screw ALPA), changed the name from EWA to Menlo, and sold it to UPS without the pilots. I miss flying but acting and comedy is more fun to me nowdays. In the old days we flew 12 days a month for $130,000 a year. Now the "Stuff and S**t" I see pays only $60,000 a year for jet captain giving 21+ days a month. I can do the math, not my scene. Flying is fun but its a job not My Hobby. A house in the Wesr costs a million dollars now day. After I got laid off from EWA I lost my 6000' sq foot home and all my money. I'm now poor and live in a 23' RV, but I am Happy. Perhaps I will fly a Biz-Jet soon. But only as the rich guy in the back.
As far as the "Captain Caneman DC8" video..NO FARs were broken. One guys says its not MIA. True, the video is two different trips. The landing was on a short 6000' runway in Europe after a 10 our flight. Its not a hard landing for a DC8, and the GPWS went off because I HAD TO plant it on the numbers for a short field landing. You can here just a few seconds after touchdown 3000' remaining. As far as the gear down at 1000 feet. Thats OK for me. I like to go power idle at top of climb, glide down to 1500' then spool them up for landing without touching the power during the descent. And make all the profiles and speed restrictions on the approach.

HHC-CC, your SMOOOOTH, and correct, I did not key the mike. Come on guys. I may be a "wierd-stupid-loose-crazy guy" in the videos, BUT when Im flying I always make sure to stay within the FARs and "Saftey is Number One" Im Not A Fool. Just a Comic.....

I am glad that you take care of your teeth, as much as they don't sound important but they can be the biggest pain in the Ass later on.
I am happy that no laws were broken and you fly as safe as possible, you are much more experienced than I am but safety is everything in this line of work, I gotta give it to you, you are funny and goofy.

Guys, Sorry I have a few spelling errors on my above post..their and they are what is correct..and West..AND I do not get an Edit Button to change it.
ANYYYY WAYYYYYYYY..I don't fly anymore because I want to make it in the entertainment biz and you have to do it 100%. I have to be around 100% for auditions and callbacks. Can't be gone a day. When I see pilots who act or play music they still are pilots, not actors or musicians. I like flying freight, did PAX not my gig..Other than FedEx and UPS there is no pay, and us EWA guys are blacklisted from those places due to 1. ALPA and The postal deal that happened, 2. All the lawsuits against EWA, Emery, CNF and ALPA.. 3. UPS bought Emery and if they take one of us they have to take ALL of us.
Im going for Broke..I want $$$$$$$ LOOT....not just 60K, but 600K a year would be a good start..
My bills are VERY low. No rent as I live in a RV. Just phone, insurance, internet, food....Hey its cool being poor..As they say YOU Have to Hit Bottom before you can Make it to The Top...I can't get much lower.. Im only 6 tires away from living on the street...

I don't remember UPS buying Emery, though we did buy Menlo and Challenge Air Cargo. I thought Emery just kinda went away after a strike, which may be similar to NWA or DAL in the near future. You guys got screwed over, that's for sure. You know Nat Talarico?
While I thought your DC8 video was repulsive is some ways, it was also funnier than crapola. I don't believe you necessarily violated any FAR's but if you did all that in a UPS airplane, they would fire you in a heartbeat. Who knows....maybe I'll make your sequel at UPS someday.

Thank You for the kind welcome over here. You can call me Caneman, I guess that works. Yea, I created quit a stir on the web from these boards, WOW. Maybe I'll get an agent and manager from this as they can now see the energy that I can create.
Emery CHANGED their name to MENLO to HIDE THE GUILTY. There was a rumor that USP was gonna buy EWA while we were flying and we would have been UPS pilots. But the scumbags at EWA first got rid us of via a LOCKOUT and then turned in their certificate to get out of the ALPA contract (which is now is state and federal courts) and then changed the name to Menlo and then sold it to UPS. I know a 15 year DC8 Captain at UPS makes almost double what we made at EWA and 4 times what the other cheep freight airlines pay. For me I want to make money and flying is (was) my job, not a hobby. Im out of flying by my own will.
I know Nat very well, great guy. He'll tell you all about EWA and the BS..

Living in an RV is OK. Did it when I was young on the airports and became a heavy jet captain, so Im now doing it again. I'm not young. Been in it over 3 years but rent is free in a driveway. And its my way to make it in Hollywood. I dont have to wait tables for rent. Its a 1985 Tioga, 23'RV. I have a nice Shower, oven, AC, central heat, water heater, good beds, sinks microwave and fridge. Just like a crash pad. And I have wireless internet..thats a must for getting all my acting jobs, and now staying up on these boards. But I still go to Starbucks for coffee. The YMCA, you can keep that, I go to 24 hour fitness. Lots of hot babes there.

For the record, you are more qualified to be me than I am. Just the way it works out sometimes, I guess. Lota luck and fate comes into play in this career.
