DC8 Video, funny in a way, sad in a way....

When he started talking about his stripes, I was thinking, "Kingairer, is that you?" But then his landing had less than yeager-like skills, so I immediately knew it wasn't him. That and the lack of hooters girls in the cockpit.
 
The video may be old. His bio says, "ex airline captain", and he looks much younger in the -8 video than in some of his other "programs".

He's into some wacky underground humor. Looks to me like the Howard Stern Show mated with Wayne's World...and the offspring was Caneman.

I love some of that humor...and was trying to like Caneman. He's just not that funny.
 
Anyone else thing the F/E was drunk? Then again, he did have the coffee ready to go so maybe he was just tired.

No. And between the F/E and Captain Caneman, you'd pick the F/E as your guess if one of the two was drunk?! Captain Caneman by a landslide! But none of them were drunk, just a comedian captain, though not necessarily a funny one. In that video anyway.

No, it was obvious to me that Captain Caneman had something going on ... over-the-top comedian, drunk, or high.

But nothing was said about the F/E ... and I thought maybe he had a little something going on with him as well, so I thought I would ask.
 
I agree with DE727UPS, the F/E kinda looks like he's thinking this video thing isn't a great idea.

I wonder if the FO asked Capt. C. not to include him. You never see his face except for a moment during the approach.
 
There we go, folks!

Now imagine if this was a clearly identifiable United Airlines 727 crew with 141 people on board and instead of pilots talking about the video, there were a bunch of frightened "OMG! They're flying and all three aren't staring steely-eyed at the instruments! OMG OMG!" people from the general public.

Potentially a PR nightmare.
 
listening to funny guys at the tower is funny, this guy just took it a little to far.........Funny, yes sad in a way yes. Just my thought.
 
But here's a question to ask. 'Hey, Skipper? How do you feel about 300 hour jet FO's?" :)

What do you to be able to observe a surgery?
I work in the medical field and part of my job is being involved in surgery cases. I have never seen anyone "observe" just for the sake of being there. But you are correct, to the general public surgery would seem to be a no nonsense environment. Quite the contrary. There are many comments made between staff, regarding staff, regarding the patient, etc. Some good, bad, sad, disrespectful, and funny. You can try to stay awake, you will fail and fall asleep, be naked to the world, prepped for surgery, and then the staff will open up a bit. Always depends on the case though.

Someone mentioned The Offspring, I think two of the band members are pilots. They have a bus jet with a large anarchy symbol on the tail. Next time I see it at LGB I will try get the tail number.

I watched some of "caneman"s videos. He walks with a cane, not sure if it is necessary. If he truly needs the cane I say it is impressive what he has acheived in his life. Nice to see someone with a disability which does not hinder their goals.

p.s. I think that guy is insane, not cool insane but seriously has something wrong with his mental facilities. He always talks that way. Is that what flying freight does to someone? LOL
After seeing his more recent videos and then re-watching the subject of this post. It is a bit more funny.

That statement doesn't apply to everyone man. I'm not necessarily talking about me, just pointing out that not everyone is underpaid. As we've discussed many times, much of this is by choice.:)

Really? My brothers friend watched an open heart surgery and he has no medical experience, besides volunteering there?
 
Most surgical suites are restricted in who may go in and view/participate in the procedure. Everyone's name in the room will usually be put in the patients chart.

I have no idea how your brother's friend was able to view an open heart surgery. Maybe he has connections with someone.

Just think if you were the patient and someone you didn't know and who was not a part of the surgery was in the room. Would you be comfortable with that? Someone seeing you under the knife, not to mentions your naked body as you are prepped for surgery. I would not.

University affiliated hospitals are more lax in who is able to enter an operating room. These are educational institutions and teach future doctors. Folks if you have insurance and can stay away from hospitals affiliated with medical schools, do so. Unless you are going to see a specialist and are sure you will see that individual, don't go there. Many times residents are overseen by attending physicians but not on every case.
