Finally warm enough in the northland to get some actual!

Sort of, was IFR and got vectors over the 1R threshold headed towards wooly

Wow. So they probably turned you northeast right as you crossed the river, I'm guessing.

I've only ever gotten that corridor 2x, and never outbound - it has always been when I'm returning to the SFRA from the south and they have me fly MIXNN/TICON waypoints up the east side.

Full Moon on the outer banks (and very dim cockpit lighting that looks desperately bright on the iPhone for some reason).

From the other side of the Carolinas.

Our favorite pizza place opened in Highlands, NC. It’s a 40 min drive, but it’s one of my favorite roads. Even at the speed limit(ish) the curves are fun. The scenery is amazing and th are three legit waterfalls along the way. Here is one.

edit: not sure why it’s sideways, but drunk enough not to care

You’re really close to my old stompin’ ground. About an hour from my folk’s place and an hour and a half from an institution of “huger learnin’” where I served about 36 months. Also, there’s some fun white water rafting north of there.

So I got word that a 707 was headed our way, and was a bit doubtful myself that it'd be commercial. Does anyone know -- is Lincoln Labs' N404PA a commercially active bird? Because if it's only chartered by the USAF for research, this may be the oldest bird I've photographed. The Ameristar fleet's got the trophy of oldest active commercial birds I've worked, though.

Here's the aforementioned 707 landing at Hanscom AFB.
