A little pet peeve of mine, mostly when it comes to shipping, but Alaska is on the North American Continent and is therefore CONUS/Continental US.
Or you get the "we only ship fedex or ups and that will be $60" for a $3 part that would fit in a flat rate USPS flat rate envelope.

IIRC, the Army considers Alaska OCONUS so it that sense I guess it's contiguous and not continental, wondering if shipping companies look at it the same way.

Three years ago today I was the flight engineer for the last and final flight of an American registered 727-100 freighter. Its first flight was on July 18, 1967, and its last flight was on February 5, 2012. It operated for United, FedEx, Kelowna Flightcraft, and IFL during its long career.

I've heard that 727s leaked skydrol constantly, especially in the tail section. Is that true?

Let me put it this way. A new pilot shirt was lucky to make it five hours without getting a hydraulic or oil stain. We were advised not to linger under the engines or tail in an effort to avoid the drips.
