daily pic

Here's a few pictures fairly close (within 50 miles or so) to some of the fires burning in West Alaska.

What engine do you have in there? You certainly run it at a lower torque and rpm. We run it at 80% torque, and 98% rpm in cruise.

Got the -12JR with the SRL derating it to 950hp. 80% in level flight would overspeed it, usually cruise at 360lbs/hr down low or 65% torque higher up.

Pratt vs Garret. 100% in cruise in a garrett is well beyond Mmo/Vne. 100% power in the pratts I've flown is 40+ knots under max.

We have a SUPERVAN at our company can`t wait to fly it.

We do too. It's pretty neato but I think the Aero Twin is a better conversion. For one thing, it is certified all the way up to 9062 lbs in icing with the APE III kit. The Supervan is limited to the stock caravan weights of 8550 with the pod or 8750 without.
Made it to Alaska. To fly... Fly like a bird.

Where at in Ak?

SMZO, Suriname.

Less weight is not really and issue here, most of the strips would be too short anyway to make it out at MTOW,

Wished I could have taken my camera for the retirement ceremony, but guess we will deal with cell phone pics! I'll try to get the video uploaded at some point. Was a great little ceremony and I was fascinated to learn how much the B727 meant to FedEx. 35 years in service!

That was a great ceremony today also! Aside from it being boiling on the tarmac, it is a day I will never forget. I got some good shots off today too and a little video. I will try and upload some of em later.
