Plenty of San Diegans wondering if this will ever work. I dig the tail.

Saw that at Palomar a couple days ago. I thought they got their cert a while ago to begin flights. But I was told it still just sits there.

Last I heard there was another snag with the FAA so the official start-up has been pushed back (again) until 2013 sometime.

Adler, what kind of camera did you use for that night shot, and what settings? I've tried to get a shot of the milky way with my NEX 5N and all I get are faint stars, even with a 30 sec exposure and f3.5.

you want to limit the exposure time to prevent star trails, and use a high ISO. read up on image stacking. try 10 second, f/5.6 and iso 3200 (unless it kills the color/creates too much noise.

High ISO...

Ah gotcha, I think I tried mine at a low ISO thinking the long exposure would make up for it. I'll try 3200 or 6400 next time. The NEX 5N performs very well at high ISO.
