Got an email today saying a pilot from the airport I grew up at passed away. My family would ride our bikes to the airport, and he'd always be out there playing around with something, super eager to show us what we was working on, and always inviting me to go flying.

When I read the email I went back into my collection, and I found a picture I took of him last year playing in his Jodel D.9; I think he was 80 at the time of the shot.

Saw an airship floating around off the shore of Fire Island about 9:45 this morning, about due south of ISP, impossible to tell how far off shore though. I was coming from the north. I don't suppose that was you was it?

Camera man onboard, but we have a monitor to see what is going on, or more or less to use to position the camera.

Nope, we're over in NJ, flying 40 miles or so to LGA for the tennis everyday. Could have been one of the MetLife ships or might have been the Navy out of Lakehurst.
