Random question- you're at C5 right? Did they finally get the old Colgan crew room?
In EWR? Not sure, it's next to gate 80 in C1. Snooze room in C2 on ramp level.
I was in IAD the other day and noticed the filing cabinet had one of those inventory stickers "Property of Colgan Air"

@A Life Aloft Just in case you thought was all sunshine and unicorns here.

Even crappy wx in paradise.......well, it's still paradise. I bet you have yourself a damn ball the vast majority of the time flying in that little bugger. You see more beauty in a month than many on this planet will ever see in a lifetime.......not to mention the skills you have learned and honed flying in that environment.

Polar bears of Barter Island.

I had to look up where this island is. Man, you got to see polar bears romping around and swimming. That is very cool. All I know they are larger than a grizzly and are supposed to be even less hospitable. Damn, the sights you guys get to experience up there. Wonderful.

That is a great shot of the cliffs and beach. Looks like some decent waves out there too. How's the surfing there?

I actually love it although it still is pretty cold in the summer. I haven't surfed as much lately but hope to be back at it again one of these days :) The beaches are really awesome too if you want to go ride some quads/dirt bikes or take your vehicle out on and drive up and down it as it's a right for everyone in Oregon to have public access full length from Washington to California. if you've never been it's really a beautiful coastline to see with all the tall cliffs and beaches.

Here's a video too of the coast which I absolutely love to see over and over again

Oh that video is terrific. I haven't been up to Oregon in just ages. I need to do that again. The fishing (fresh and saltwater) is amazing. The forests are so beautiful and very pristine for the most part. Loads of really old growth trees, lots of hard and soft woods and such a wonderful variety of species. Sadly, I never had the opportunity to surf there.

If you don't mind some colder water it sure is a lot of fun and the locals are actually pretty nice guys/gals compared to some of the California spots I've been where I get the death stare or someone tells me locals only lol. Around Cannon Beach area is where I have seen a bunch go riding and there some cool local surf shops along the coast, one guy I forgot his name has a cool story about paddling out pretty far and having a great white shark bite his board, I hope to never deal with that :D

Oh hell, we have great whites down here now in much greater numbers, staying longer than they used to in the area, getting closer to shore and biting a few boards and people. lol They've had to temporarily close more beaches this year because of them than any other year that I know of or remember too. The life guards are using small drones to fly out, spot them and keep track of them.

That's just jacked up about some people's attitudes. If you are down here enough, you'll find most surfers in most of the areas are not jack offs. Malibu however, is infamous for them.

Yah, you're right, it's not that bad.

That is so awesome. Do you have your butt parked on that outdoor couch with a cold one yet? I am glad to hear your fishing season went so well. Good for you. That's looks like an interesting spot. If you have a chance, take some more pics.
Not lately, but it's been a good couple days. Here is a good arial of fish camp.

I didn't mean all places I have been! haha sorry that sounded bad. I love California when I can make it which isn't often anymore sadly, the waters a lot warmer for me and yeah malibu is one spot come to think of it and I think one time near Carlsbad a few years back. I didn't even know about that either regarding the white sharks! We started hearing more about them these past few years I wonder why?

Wow, that is great. man, you can go damn near anywhere in that plane. The fish camp looks terrific. Does anyone live there all year round? I see some other planes there as well. That coastline is nice. It would be so great to have a little boat there. It must be so serene, quiet and beautiful to experience. What kind of wildlife is on the land/in the area there?
