I was doing a walk around today and spotted what looked like blood all over the inside of the right nose gear. I wrote it up and called MX out to take of a look. 5 minutes later a mechanic comes up laughing and explains that it is bearing grease from the wheel.

Doh!
 
They are indeed, there is a company in Destin called "Vertol Systems" that has a couple of Mil-8 Hips and a Mil-24 Hind. The Mil-18 was a prototype design...Adler, were you thinking of the Mil-17, which was the export version of the 8?

Damn, I did mean to type 17, but for a different reason. The tail rotor is on the left side.

Haha! Now I don't feel as bad...did the same thing a year or so ago. It was splattered all over the nose wheelwell. Looked just like bird goo.
 
MJG, I love the pics of Rainer, St. Helens and Hood...The Shuttle runs we did in the Q400 from PDX-SEA and SEA-PDX were always great flights of sightseeing.

shooting them with the shotgun is a lot easier for me than shooting them with the camera. had to manually focus as that lens is a bit slow-
