Boredom Box

Probably my favorite thing in my camera bag (other then my actual camera and lenses) is my polarizing filter. I bought a cheapo one from WalMart to test it out, and I've been absolutely loving it ever since.

It's been amazing with bringing out colors, which I love when it comes to darkening the sky. It also reduces reflections, making windshields look great.

I recently came across two interesting pictures from my Oshkosh '11 set. Both were taken using the same settings on my camera, and have only been photoshop'ed to reduce the size and stack them side-by-side.

The shot on the left is with the filter rotated 0 degrees, and the right is with the filter rotated to it's max.

What filter is that?

I don't have an uber-snazzy camera - Nikon D50 - but I'd love to be able to take sweeter pictures. I've been thinking about getting a "fish-eye" lens/filter as well.

I miss home :(

Sorry you miss it, but I'll trade places with ya for about a month until it cools off. Seriously, Sept. is my least favorite month down here... Still too hot to be fall.

Anyway, have another...
