Very cool. Is that the center pumps message on the EICAS?

What app did you use for this?

I used Photosynth. It's really neat how it all works. I'm probably doing a leg today as the IRO, so I might try to get a panorama from the "back seat" that'll cover more of the cockpit.

The EICAS messages are for the forward and aft fuel pumps on one side. We were crossfeeding, which involves turning off the low side's fuel pumps after opening the crossfeed valves. We leave the messages up as a reminder that we're not pumping tank-to-engine, and to keep us from letting the crossfeed go too far (it won't alert us when the tanks are balanced).

how cool, why were you flying formation? I have only done that once at Warbird Adventures in Kissimmee...and we flew as a flight of two tankers to a fire last week...

cool, is that you? I love that we have such a variety of people here.... I wish we could take folks for rides, but the liability is too great.

Yes it is me, I carry around a relatively little Nikon P100... every once and while will get some semi-decent air to air pictures. Basically the same with liability.

A T1i should be on my porch tomorrow

That's awesome! You'll definitely have to show us the results. I think that's going to be my next camera... just about ready to step into the DSLR world.. and something relatively compact would be awesome.:)

Some cool flying you get to do, Viper demo team, Citations, whatever is in your sig and the spread formation shot. Keep the shots coming!

That's a Yak-9, taken from a P-51... sorry about the quality of most of these... I usually just take that P100 because it's easier to fit in smaller cockpits. I'm not quite a Photoshop wiz yet!

What do you want to know?:D

I was curious how you ended up in a Citation formation flight with a Premier. Business jet formation flying is pretty darn rare, and I would assume there is some interesting back story to it.

(A secondary reason for the question was to hopefully get you to give some background information on the training and briefing required to safely do formation flight. I get nervous when I see those kind of pictures of general aviation aircraft, thinking that less experienced pilots will try to emulate them without the proper background and turn themselves into smoking holes.)
