As a non-pilot, I don't get why some of these aircraft went around after they had three points on the ground. Isn't the worst behind you at that point? (If I was a pax in a few of these, the crew would hear me scream "go around!" From seat 23B.)
The Ryan and Emerites aircraft were in much less precarious conditions and seemed to make the prudent choice to go around before they has wheel(s) down.
