Crocs in Uniform??

Meh. The Dark Side is alluring on leg 7 of 8, we'll see. Some of it is the Embraer Superiority Complex. ("FOD...like birds, ice, and Canadair parts...")

How are the arch supports in the Eccos? Those are sharp-looking shoes that I might have to have a pair of.

I don't know. I've never had any issues with arch support ever, so I'm not sure I'd recognize a lack of it.

I'm embarrassed on a daily bases by most of our pilots here at Eagle. Whenever I see crews from other Regionals it is just as bad if not worse.

When did pilots stop having pride in themselves and how they look? I could go on all day with this rant but will back away slowly before my blood pressure rises.

If you want extra embarrassment stand next to an international crew-from say Europe or South America-who are standing tall in their crisp and tailored uniforms...while your Captain is overweight, wearing a wrinkled uniform shirt with one end tucked out and a coffee stain on his tie. Happened to me...and I felt like doing a barrel roll into the nearest storm drain.

easy on the overweight comments. We eat like crap, we strap ourselves to a chair in the sky all day long. We don't get much sleep. And when we are home we have a honey-do list and fatherhood to keep us busy. I'm in my 40s. This body ain't returning to the shape it was in college any time soon.

PS - I like the Ecco Atlanta.

lol...ok, I'll give you a pass on the weight issue. But there is no excuse for the poor dress habits!!!!! Said in my best R. Lee Ermey voice:

On a serious note: If anybody wants fitness/health advice I am your man. I enjoy helping folks-especially flight crews-reach their health goals. It's all about nutrition and is easier than you think...even when flying 4 day trips.

Oh, and fellas...Here is an easy way to look less like a slob: Button up your blazer!!!! Un-button when you sit...then button it back up when you stand. Only one button: the top one on a two button blazer and the middle one if there are three. Never button the lowest one.

Pilots in the US have undergone a lot of change over the last 14 years. Externally the perception of pilots has further deteriorated to us being a glorified bus driver. Internally there have been massive pay and benefit cuts. Erosion in scope has resulted in increased downward pressure in the form of large regional airlines paying record low wages. Morale certainly has plummeted as a result.

Ultimately you get what you pay for.
