CRJ V1 cuts !

"policy" is trust but verify

yes banana bar is easy peasy as well as dct intc page

vpa on bottom altitude will have you mess up some fixes however, hence the mental gymnastics and also just mentally being ahead of the plane (this last bit is my bane)

You're setting the VPA to the recommended angle on OPDs, and not just the default angle, right? And we set the first hard altitude of the descent rather than the bottom. Then follow the snowflake ref: the direct intercept page FPM.

Yes, setting VPA when appropriate and I incorrectly said bottom altitude instead of first hard altitude.

At this point I'm not sure if there is something I'm not getting or if its just the fact I'm not good at mental math and therefore "the snowflake will screw you" and not being able to spit out an answer lickety split just makes it look like I don't know what's going on

In my experience, as long as the VPA is set correctly the snow flake is pretty darn accurate.

You'll be fine. That's why there are two of you up there. You fly while the other person watches your back to keep you out of trouble.
