Ok, who wants to come out with some elbow grease - I'll convert it into a few bunks and Airbnb it ;)

In for the Diablo Rojo conversion!

I have seen lax police riding their bikes through the lot. And I've received a parking ticket there months ago. So someone must be checking on occasion.

Yeah... Come to think about it I was walking out to my car one day when all the cars double parked or parked I the fire lane had tickets on them.

I'm really not sure how a meter maid would know if I was sleeping in a van.

Just gonna chime in here on page three because I can totally do whatever I want (within certain well established social norm boundries)...

But, something tells me a sailboat tie-down cost would be at least triple what a crashpad may run in the LAX metroplex.

maybe...but so? SAILBOAT! I mean, hell, think of the fun you could have!

Oh dude, trust me. I want a sailboat bad...no doubt.

I'll have one within the next seven years. Make my words. Just need to escape the landlocked-ness of Atlanta for someplace with decent scenery, water, and wind.

I looked up the logistics for me personally. (Slip/mooring a 27-35' sailboat) Not a money saver. Then I looked at LA. Even worse cost of 'floating.'

But true... sailboat. I may get a day sailer when I get back to the central time zone.

Pretty sure Southeast AK is the only place people actually save money by living on a boat.
My friend did the math straight out of college. He got a great discount at a yacht club for joining when young, bought a 32 or so foot Catalina and lived on it in Point Loma for a few years. The membership, boat loan, and slip fees were lower than an apartment. Aside from relying on the showers/bathroom shared by everyone at the dock it was perfect setup as a young single guy. This was years ago, so don't know if that math would work today.

Buy a used xterra park in the lot at night and the drive it to the beach during the day. The beach has showers and restrooms!

I had a buddy of mine do this while were were based in HNL. He just bunged his surfboard to the top of his car and lived the surf bum dream...
