Crashes that Changed Flying

"...like a NASCAR wreck at one hundred miles per hour..."

What genius wrote that gem?

can't stand these stupid shows sometimes.

Actually watching it right now, very interesting show. Remindes me of a teacher I had in college who stated that many regulations and requirements for aviation safety are written in blood

*sigh* not impressed so far.

You have to remember this is more for the general public than anything.

When taking that into consideration, it is very interesting.

Is this supposed to be a series? I am thinking they are coving so many in an hour that they should soon run out of really good material...

I was just kind of hoping for a little look at how the NTSB operates and what thought processes they use to investigate, and how an accident may or may not affect flying.... instead I get "200 passengers on a collision course with DOOOOM"

My guess is that it requires a lot of experience + an engineering degree or A&P... but I'm not an NTSB investigator, nor do I have that kind of experience. :D

I thought it was a good show. Overall I think aloha243 would have been the scariest for a pax. My aunts convertible top flew off like that once but all it did was screw up her hair.

I enjoyed the show--thought it was well-done. I especially liked learning about what innovations came out of the crash investigations to help prevent similar accidents. Some of them I knew about, some of them I didn't.

My wife and I were in Hawaii when it happened. We were driving by the airport when I noticed a very odd looking 737 on the ramp. I had only my long lens for my camera and could not believe what I was seeing when I focused on the fuselage. Around here somewhere is 10-20 shots of that 737.

This shot, obviously just after landing, is amazing.

I saw it, then right after it, the truth behind the Hudson crash. Thought to myself, it hit a lot of birds, what is the truth behind it? But overall very impressive.
