Crashes that Changed Flying

As a Meineke certified Safety Engineer, I want to again caution everybody about jumping to conclusions. RIP to the brave souls that were lost and my prayers go to the families of the victims. I want to remind everyone that the accident investigation process is long and drawn out...but will reach the proper conclusion!

Eastern flight 401 was interesting and I think is a CRM study.

TWA mid-air in Urbana, Ohio in 1967 gave rise to the speed limits at various altitudes.

The Northwest and Braniff L-188 crashes in 1959 and 1960 were REALLY interesting and there was a great book written about them. MJG407 is an expert on those issues.

The one I remember as having an impression on me was the Air Florida crash in 1981 into the Potomac. It had snowed (a half inch) in Houston that day and I had a snow day from school (only one k-12). They broke in with a "Special Report" and it was on the rest of the day.

The other one is DAL191 because I saw that airplanes wreckage when I was in Dallas a day of so after it happened.

I like to watch the show Air Emergency. I think it's on the national geographic Channel. Pretty good. When does this show start?

:laff: You're killin' me Smalls!

Can you tell me when this show is on? Is it a one-time deal or a series, etc. etc.? Thanks! :)
Sorry if someone else already answered this question.

Try looking at the Discovery Channel, this coming Sunday evening, April 26. There should be two episodes that evening with a one hour break and then a repeat of the same two episodes. From what I read, it looks like it will be a series. Also, unlike "Air Emergency", it seems to look more at a group of accidents with similar traits instead of dissecting one specific accident.

I really used to dig Barnaby Jones. I was very young then (4,5,6) but I had my pretty girl fetish even then. I always wanted Lee Meriwether to give me a bath.
