I thought he was flying for USA 3000 or World or something along those lines.

I think they would see it as a plus and move you to the front of the line!
(1) You would be able to afford the career of "hobby pilot" supporting yourself primarily through other means.
(2) You would find it "funny" at the end of the year when you get your W2 and realize you spent 100K to get a job that only put 20K in block 1.
(3) You could cheer other pilots up with tailored acts that distracts their attention away from the fact that the industry is terminal..... hey there is some material for you..... terminal industry.... airport terminal.....

ChasenSFO- go for it man. If you do make it, think of the extra money you'll make during your first few years as an FO. Plus, it makes you happy right?

I talked to a retired F4 Phantom pilot at work the other day.
Him:"embry Riddle this and that, go getcher education and you'll get a good job"
Me: I don't think I can afford that though, that place is pretty pricey.
him:Regardless of price, you should do it because it is highly recognized as the best aeronautical science school and the airlines like that.
me:I know of this one dude who went there that would disagree....Adios!
He did have some cool flying upside down stories though.
