Can anyone give me information about Copa.I.E pay,QOL,training? And does anyone know of any current Copa pilots? Would really like to pick there brain.

Pprune isn't far off. A bit skewed toward the super unhappy but it's not all incorrect.

PM me with your questions and I'll answer them the best I can...

Flew with an FO who was ex-Copa recently. Sounded pretty rough. Might be ok for the young single guy looking for an adventure but it's not for everyone. Or so I hear.

I know many pilots that have flown there, and many that use to fly for my dad ended up there. they seem very happy with it...maybe they just have the right mindset..at the end it is Latin America

That's pretty much what this guy stated. He just wasn't in the right mindset/position in life to make the best of it.

You're spot on. Point is, do your homework, ask A LOT of questions and then do some more homework. In my time here, I have seen more guys leave because of disappointment over things that were widely known than anything else. It's not a regional, it's not a major, its Copa.

Panama is a fun place... Any flying job that's advertised as "for the young single guy!" I've found usually means crap pay. Unless its in the sandbox.

I follow some guys on Instagram that are pilots at Copa. I asked them about it and they told me pretty much what I read on APC and Pprune. It is what it is, but if you can stomach the schedule and don't mind being away, it's a nice place to hang your hat for a year or two. Good layovers and you'll build flight time on the 190 and 73' way faster at Copa that almost anywhere else.

Yeah most guys I fly with have some sort of exit strategy in place and they've been here less time than myself. You're right about the flying time though. I usually have 90-95 hrs scheduled a month.

Thanks for your insight on Copa, are you guys still hiring by any chance?

I'm pretty certain they are in a state of continuous hiring. I've had a few friends get interviews over the past few months. The website will have latest minimums however no one knows exactly what they are looking for.

I've had a few friends interview over the past few months. Nothing has changed to stop their hiring right now and a bunch of FOs just left for Emirates and Qatar.

Does anybody know the starting hourly pay at Copa? First and second year? I'm just asking for a friend of mine who might be a good fit with them. I can't find this info on any other website either.
