Who are "you people?"
Whaddup brother! Didn't think you'd be up this late!
Did he say, "Dayumm! It's HOTT!" out here!
July and August are the 'bad months' but the rest are very nice.
I was a 5-year Captain at a large regional and was on track to make about $70k this year until I left. I don't consider 70 grand to be a "healthy salary" for an air line Captain. I spent a heck of a lot of time away from home and had a lot of headaches for that salary. The pay at the regionals is extremely substandard.
When you look at the time away from home, and what the job involves, I certainly see your point, that $70K isn't "healthy", for an airline captain. BUT, I still find it hard to put a "figure" on what would be considered acceptable, vs. unacceptable, as this will vary from one person to another. Depending on their lifestyle, where they live, etc., one pilot may be more than happy with their $70K, while another may believe that anything less than six figures is unacceptable. I think, regardless of what you think is good pay, or not, you should always fight for more, especially for that fellow pilot who wants his six figures, but I can't see bashing another pilot, because he is happy with his salary.

Even another twist.
$70K today is a lot different than what $70K will be by the time you make it in the future.
Heck, that's less than a bus driver in many cities, DOH!![]()
