Compass Airlines Interview

9E is S3 on their own metal (like any other regional), S3B1 on DL mainline and any regional that's not Skywest/ExpressJet, and S3C on SkyWest/Expressjet. It really doesn't help a ton considering we can really only bump other regionals and DGS employees (but not DGS supervisors/managers, who fly at mainline priority).

Another thing that I thought was interesting was that on Delta Connection flights not operated by Endeavor (i.e. Compass, GoJet, etc.), the jumpseat is first-come, first-serve for anybody. I found this out the hard way on my very first nonrev trip, when I was trying to go GRB-MSP on a SkyWest flight. Because a JetBlue dispatcher listed before me, he got the jumpseat ahead of me. This is different than the AAG way where it goes pilots/dx on their metal, then AA/MQ/OH/PT jumpseaters listed as D2, then any other airline jumpseaters. Luckily, my friend in GRB was nice enough to drive me down to ATW, where I got the jumpseat on another OO flight back to MSP.

The best thing about 9E's benefits is being able to bump anybody out of the jumpseat on mainline who isn't a mainline employee (or FAA, etc.).

eff it...here ya go. checked a random flight from today....

That active DL employee with an S3 on a regional must have been a fluke...
Hey man, I didn't expect it to come to this, but I strongly advise you delete that post. Someone at my place got fired a couple of years back for posting a screen shot of travelnet. Also, maybe it's different for endeavor since they are WO, but I bump DL on my metal as a S3

I dont work for DL or any DL carrier. Soooo I'm not really worried about that. But I do agree its usually not good practice to post any company related material.

Sorry I'm just bored right now. But regardless....I spent 3.5 years at mainline DL....and obviously I still have connections there. Mainline employees fly S3 regardless of who's metal it is. Didnt mean to blow this out of proportion, but I hate when people post mis-information, whether they know it or not. You'll bump anyone on your metal with lower seniority as you, cause you'll both be S3's

On Skywest/ExpressJet metal, mainline goes at S3B1 and only active OO/EV employees fly at S3. This is different than, say, Compass, where both DL mainline AND Compass employees fly as S3, and it goes by seniority between them. Not sure why, but I'm guessing it's in the contract between DL and OO.

It's not like UA where you're SA0X or AA where you're AAC and bump everybody else if it's your own metal.

I wish I understood what all these S3B1...QRSTUV's stood for. I'm having a hard time following. And this is something I want to learn.

Standby priority. As a wholly owned regional of Delta, Endeavor was given S3B1 priority over the other regionals on mainline metal and some select regionals

This might help you...believe me, you learn them very quickly once you start flying standby to determine if you are getting on a flight, or need to go to your Plan B, C, D or E. ;) Okay, I am not really kidding. You must have all those additional options planned out, because you just never know what will happen. It is amazing how quickly things change.

Not to burst your bubble, but even though these codes provided in the link are indeed STBY codes, they are CONFIRMED STBY codes.... These are ppl that have BOUGHT tix on a flight but want to move to an earlier one ... Most of them are the ones that are just waiting seat assignments because they didn't pick a seat at the time of booking.

This is something completely separate from what is being discussed here! I understand you are trying to be helpful but Please thoroughly fact check before posting on something you are not completely sure of.
