Colgan closing NE outstations

Do the guys that kept saying "Outstation basing will be gone in a few years" when 9E bought Colgan get to say "I told you so" now?

Actually, I and many others have been thinking that a lot with that and other aspects of what just happened, but don't want to be an ahole and rub it in other's faces.

I think everybody who was here pre 9E knew it was coming... lots hoped it wouldn't though.

Just to re-cement.. don't pick your airline for your base :)

I've found myself becoming a bit cynical recently, and I'm sorry for that.. but, picking an airline for a minor base, (outstation at that) isn't a great Idea. Outstations worked with EAS but Colgan has consistently moved away from EAS. The two go hand in hand, and that should have been a clear warning. Why do you think the negotiating committee didn't fight for min day pay, rsv rules etc for the outstations? (I hope) They were smart enough to understand that they were going away in the "new colgan"

Meh, not trying to be an ahole, just possibly seeing an opportunity to give back after recieving a ton. 'Course I'm still Not Happy with how the whole implemenation thing is going, either. So far, just 5 days into the friggin' month, the company owes me about 6 hours of pay that I won't see until "Sept 1st at the latest." Nevermind the fact that every pilot that's been here more than 3 months knows how to make it work manually in CrewTrac.....

Well, the thought DID cross my mind. ;)

Just read a response to a question in the ALPA CJC Scheduling Inbox, it looks as if the 9L crewtrac should be updated to at least recognize minimum day pay before the month is out. When it comes to leg by leg block or better, thats another story.

I have at least 5 days in my line this month that are below min day pay.

my 76 hour award line with the new rules is now close to 88... I'm hoping they don't get smart and build the sched. better :)

Soft money can't possibly equal hard money. Can't can't can't can't can't.

I don't care.

On a side note, have you all made a standard form for tracking pay month after month?

My block and soft pay are almost equal to eachother this month..... 59 hours block and will be crediting in the low 120's :rawk:

We are about to get an email about our credit issues. I believe we will have a window to call scheduling to get things fixed. I have been taking incredible notes...

Hehe. Feels good to have a contract doesn't it? Are you guys making up a standard form with instructions to keep track. I think we should be all over the company on this one. Although I admit that other than the 75% dh, we are getting the leg by leg and everything else right now at Mesaba, so we don't really need it.

Yeah, they are working on some forms. To be fair, colgan probably had the most outdated and least sophisticated version of sabre crewtrac, so we aren't getting leg by leg yet. My paycheck was messed up as well, my hire date was right before feb 18th, so i needed 3 different pay rates for feb, so we all knew that paycheck was gonna be messed up. What I'm working on now is sim cancellation pay. I was supposed to deadhead on day 1, so I would have gotten 4 hours for that (min day pay) and on day 2 take my PC, and then deadhead back. That would have been 5 or 6 hours I believe. I've reread the contract several times and I can't figure it out. Do I get everything? My guess is I get just the sim credit. I also picked up two reserve days on those days after my cancellation, and got activated for both so 150% of min day pay is 6 hours X 2 days equals 12 hours pay. I emailed the jcba question email and they told me that I am entitled to the greater of my sim cancellation or the two days I picked up. That makes no sense. I picked up those two days on my days OFF, and should be entitled to BOTH the sim cancellation pay and my two pickup days. I'm fighting that, among other things. That and my vacation is still at 18 hours credit even though the note in crewtrac shows *fixed credit per jcba. Nope, give me 3 more hours! It's frustrating on the cjc side, I just tell everyone take detailed notes on EVERYTHING. But to sum up, soft credit rocks.

Yeah I feel for you. At least you have the ability to get paid for it all. :)

Hope you've got about 50 guys volunteering for grievance work.

Please don't feel for me, I'm home based now :) do let me buy u a beer if your in Memphis next month, however.
I think I will volunteer to help out though, on top of being on the scheduling committee. I find that the more I help out the more I learn for myself.

No better way to learn the contract than being on the grievance committee.

As for buying me a beer, I'll be a monkey's uncle unless I get first round. Besides if you are in town a few days I could probably even get you a home cooked meal.

As for snuggle, he's a big time captain now, he's buying the first round next time he's in town!

How about a lesson on the Saab? I haven't even been on a Saab automobile but I'm upgrading on the damn thing. 100 degree Houston heat here I come! Come to think of it this is my first Colgan training event ever.....
