Colgan closing NE outstations

Announced today, ALB, SYR, BHB, PQI will close and Boston will open, no scheduled date yet. How will the vacancy posting be completed? System-wide eligibility or do those whose bases get closed get their choice of Boston first?
 
So does this mean I don't have to hear about Colgan not getting the 4 hour min day? Or does colgan still have 15 more outstations to close?
 
It's all based on seniority. Just because your base closes, doesn't mean you get first dibs at BOS. It's a vacancy system wide. I'm definitely going to bid it and see where I fall.
 
That really sucks. I hope no one *really* established a "life" at those stations, or will they be easy commutes?
One of the perks of this career.
 
BHB is (was?) a very senior base for CAs. JW who is #7 ish in the company transfered to PQI to get weekends off (and to fly the saab at the time) he was #3 in BHB. Lifers for sure.

Aside from FOs, that's exactly what CAs have done. Especially in PQI & BHB.

I'd like to see JW over at the Mesaba training center. Always was a good guy, even if he did give me hell from time to time.

Well, I purchased a house in SYR when I upgraded a couple years ago. Then, they gutted the base and I transferred to EWR. I still have the house....but apparently not for too much longer. This announcement is really no surprise, the outstations need to be closed.....just wish SYR would have survived as one of the "bases." ;)
 
Do the guys that kept saying "Outstation basing will be gone in a few years" when 9E bought Colgan get to say "I told you so" now?

With certain things in the contract, it was inevitable. Mainly the fact that they had a hot reserve crew sitting in BOS every day for the past few months (even though it wasnt a base) and now that's not allowed under the contract.

We had crews from every base working hot reserve at BOS on the beech when head clown George Casey was done with our schedule. Nice to see 3 years it's still a circus.
