CO Also Hiring

Put my name in the hat for the assistant position. Hoping to hear something back; I would love to live in Chicago.

Has anyone heard from COA? They have since pulled the job posting (the assistant position is still there), I went online to try and check the status of my application, and it does not say anything.....I am wondering if they are going purely internal for these positions....any ideas?

I think the start date is in January so they may not be starting interviews until next month. I really doubt it will be all internal. They probably just got enough resumes to sort through applicants now so pulled it off the web site, but that's just a guess.

I tossed my application into the mix for the Assistant Dispatcher position and still waiting to hear from them. Anyone know the timetable it takes to move from assistant to dispatcher? I would think that one would have to wait until a dispatcher position opened up before the move could take place. Just my .02

Anybody hear from CO @ either job and interviews? I see the Asst. DX job is still on the web site. Or it was a day or two ago..
Any info ... please advise..
Great Sunday to all....

From what I heard from internal sources is the resumes went in this past monday, and if you haven't heard by friday, its likely been filled or they picked enough resumes to interview and fill the position.
I was bummed to hear that myself, had a resume in too, no word.. Hoping maybe that friday deadline wasn't solid..

I have not heard a word from Continental. The only thing I know is that Houston HR was handling the United interviews/travel requests out to Chicago....maybe they have just been busy.

Not sure about the assistant side but they are doing dispatch interviews until mid novemeber. Seems they have their hands full with getting new folks on board and then having to move middle of next year.

Anyone know if that deadline of Friday was true or not? I can only imagine how many resumes were received by HR.

My info came from a current dispatcher there who talked to the hiring manager.. Not sure if that might have changed though, them being busy with the coming move and new people could possibly alter that deadline..

Meet all the requirements plus, F:WZ user, and have multiple United referrals plus in addition to some other things I don't want to mention in a public forum and still didn't get a call yet. Probably won't either. I was told CO is using an LA based HR company, so employee referrals/references really don't cut it anymore. I'm kind of pissed that I didn't even get a call with all my stuff I submitted. I really dislike outsourced HR!

There are a lot of intangibles aside from experience that recruiters look for. Based on what you have to say here, it doesn't sound like they're missing out. I'd suggest that if you wish to progress to any advanced level in whatever career that you choose to drop the sense of entitlement. They'll pick up on it, perhaps they already did. They don't want to hire someone with that attitude nor would I wish to work with one.

I worded my reply really badly, so I can see why you might think that of me. I don't feel I'm owed anything, just kind of upset nothing came out of it. Guess its pretty competitive is what I was trying to say.

Multiple United referrals would probably help more with United than with CO - they will be one company eventually but right now they still are separate entities.

Yeah you're right, figured it might count for something though? Maybe not.

Just checked the link and it still is active and my submission still says "under consideration," so can one assume there is still an outside chance or a call/email or if you've not heard anything now you're outta luck?
