Re: Pacific Wings Interview!!

congrats.

I for one, am glad that you came here to make an informed decision.
If that decision is right for you or wrong for you, at least it is not without knowledge. Which I think is half of why this site is here.
Shake off half the people in these PW thread, but make sure to reciprocate the information about PW with your future experience,(good or bad) to others who ask in the future.
Stick around.
Thanks. It's a great site and I appreciate all the advice, good and bad. I am making an informed decision and albeit unpopular. I will write about my interview experience in the proper forum. So far the company has worked with me on everythng from not having the 100 night IFR, my drill schedule (albeit they have to but some companies still make it a pain) and providing a good interview experience. Should I get there and they turn around to be the devil everyones talking about, I'm sure I will leave as I do ot have to sign a training contract. In short I won't let them cost me my career.

Re: Pacific Wings Interview!!

I dont know if youve read the Pacific Wings thread or not but you should. Congrats on the job! I really hope it works out for you. Just a question? If you are going to be PIC and have the time for that.. have you tried Skywest, ASA/XJT, Air Wisky, Piedmont, Colgan, Eagle, etc etc.???

I'll be PIC. I have tried (and continue to try) all these places but no ones caling back or they are rejecting me. I was offered an interview in April with Colgan until they saw my DUI on airline apps. Eagle, Compass and Katalina sentrejection letters. Some won't let me submitbecause of my lack off multi.

Re: Pacific Wings Interview!!

I'll say congrats, but man you flip flop more than John Kerry. You're probably taking the spot my buddy literally just left. He claimed to get a good vibe too and thought the chief pilot was great. Later that same chief pilot said "Well we gotta make the flights move so suck it up" when my buddy said he wouldn't fudge the duty time reports. That was about a week or two into the job. Hope you can make it work but the odds are overwhelmingly against you. Good luck and fly safe!

Hey do you think your buddy would be willing to talk to me about his experience?

Re: Pacific Wings Interview!!

Whatever...

I just hope for your SIC & Pax sake your PIC decision making is a hell of a lot different then your normal thought processes.

Yeah...theres nothing wrong with my thought process. I changed my mind a few times, so what. And my SIC and passengers are luckywillbe fine, because even if it ends up being a airline, they'll have a damn good pilot.

Re: Pacific Wings Interview!!

Now its a new decision every other hour, lol. I know, a year from now I'll hae 1000 more single engine. I have some time to think, class isn't until 7 feb. I'm going to try to talk to some people that have recently worked or are working for NMA to get the current scoop.

So there is still a chance you'll change your mind?

This thread just keeps giving.

Re: Pacific Wings Interview!!

Good luck. Let us know how it goes.

Thats going to be difficult. I sent them the emeail today letting them know I wouldnot be taking the position.Even if I were to change my mind I doubt I could go there. Theres just too much risk, not enough pay or opportunity to make money.

You changed your mind? What a surprise.......

Good, we can send this thread to the Lav now. Until the next "Pacific Wings interview!!" thread.

Re: Pacific Wings Interview!!

Note to other observers:

Many people feel some compulsion to share every thought that comes into their head...or ask advice about things where there is ample data available. Additionally, some people just want some kind of validation...be it for what airline to fly for, what airplane to buy, what kind of toilet paper will be the gentlest on their candy ass, etc...

Keep in mind - before you share your frustration...or anger...or indecisiveness - people that are in a position to hire you, or give you a really good reference are watching. I know that Mark Zuckerberg has trained us all to be incredible narcissists and share every thought that comes into our head...you know, because people want to know...but all I'm saying is that perhaps it is a bad idea.

Re: Pacific Wings Interview!!

Hey guys, I recently went into the store to pick out toilet paper, but was astounded by the sheer number of options available. What type would be gentlest?

Dude! Whatever you're trying to do here, stop! Your threads are worse than a lifetime movie.

I agree but I haven't said anything that I regret. If a prospective employer doesnt like what I posted, don't call. Im a hard worker and know my stuff and my work history and no checkride failuresss attest to that. TYeah I changed my mind about this but for me it wasnt easy, its not like I was considering a military slot. Many people who have achieved big things took great risks. Thats all Im trying to do is make a great career so my family has a great life. I didnt take the job because based on what everyone said I didnt trust the company, not because Im worried about pissing someone off on this site. So thanks to everyone who offered advice, the wise cracks were funny and despite what anyone else thinks Ill get there.
