Re: Oh yeah, Landed the Pacific Wings interview!! Again!!

In all earnestness, different strokes for different folks. Maybe he's happy there and that's what he wants. There's no shame in that, provided his decisions aren't predicated on a "best case scenario" notion of the Future. Me? I want a seniority list and a schedule. Viva la differance!

Well, he wants to end up at a 121 major someday (getting back into transport jet equipment would be good for that), but he's also in a new relationship. I keep telling him that he'd better not be putting some new girl in the way of his career. Seen it happen. Doesn't usually end well!

The problem is to get the requisite time to get to where you need to be you've got to take a pay cut, or have a crap schedule. My dillemma, as always has been "mortgage the present against the future, or the future against the present," eitherway you'll probably end up with the same net QoL, but its just how you go about getting it. He'll I'd love to go fly a CRJ or a Bro, the problem is that the fiancee and I can barely make it on what we've got right now, why would I take a pay cut to get 121 Jet Crew time when the future is uncertain? Unless I'd be getting a pay raise at my first 121 gig, as of right now, the QoL cut sure as hell isn't worth it.

I hear ya man, but you have a fiancee and financial concerns. Nobody would question that. You gotta do what you gotta do. I'm just referring to those who can make the jump, but don't because the schedule might not be exactly to their liking or the pay could be higher. They're going to be waiting a long time for that "perfect" job. IMO, it's best to keep moving and be aggressive if you can.

Re: Oh yeah, Landed the Pacific Wings interview!! Again!!

P.S.: I readily admit that I also interviewed at Pacific Wings just before I got furloughed. Got offered the job, declined and took the blue pill instead. Trust me rockman: You don't want anything to do with that half-baked organization (and that's just based on what I saw at the interview!).

Re: Oh yeah, Landed the Pacific Wings interview!! Again!!

Seems to me a simple http://www.google.com/#hl=en&expIds...+interview&gs_rfai=&pbx=1&fp=83f87efc6f926f13
search shows up this thread pretty quick. If I were in the HR dept, I would look for this sort of thing every day or so.
How would this thread affect your standing? Generally, if you are serious about getting employment, I would think "under the radar" vs. shouting to the world your feelings about possible employment there would be the better approach. May just be me, dunno. But even if they are a POS operator, best to keep such feelings to yourself if you want to get a job there?

Re: Oh yeah, Landed the Pacific Wings interview!! Again!!

Wow dude (rockman). You are all over the place. You want to interview at PW, then you don't, then you do, then you are just gathering info, then you are just being sarcastic - all within a span of a few days.

I'm just kidding though. Wait, maybe I'm not. Or maybe I'm not?

Just make a decision.

Re: Oh yeah, Landed the Pacific Wings interview!! Again!!

I was wondering the same thing.:D

I heard it was the only thing keeping him going, with all the women throwing themselves at him. Come on dood, he is a "real pilot" now flying one of those big, long haul airplanes. :)

Don't taze me!

Hang in there where you are at. It took me 10 years to get where I am at. I taught for 7 years full time at a flight school with no multi engine. I had to beg and borrow to get what mutli I could during those 7 years maybe 200 hours or so. I have 3700 hours of daul given with the majority of it in SEL. I had a blast teaching and miss it. Then I went and flew a SR22 corporately for a year before I was laid off. It was great while it lasted. Hooked up with a maintence shop the next week test flying aircraft and doing pilot services with led to managing a 421, 441 and aerostar did that for 3 years. Now I fly for the state of PA. A nice stable job. Home almost every night. Pay is desent, benefits are great. my point is it took me 10 years to get to where I am now. Don't be in such a hurry. If you are making enough to pay the bills and have a good QOL stay where you are network with owners of twins and see if you can ride a long with then on trips. If you are an MEI you can log it as PIC. Good things come to those who wait. It worked for me.

Thanks for sharing your story, and I agree. Infact one of my problems is I'm always looking ahead rather than enjoying the moment, something to work on.

What does Viagra have to do with anything? :P

The question is: What doesn't Viagra have to do with anything?

Re: Pacific Wings Interview!!

Can we please request the popcorn smilies on the selections please.

Now in reality, congrats! Each person has to weigh each choice as they move through this field. If you believe this is good then great. Study hard and good luck.

Study hard and good luck throwing bags and checking in customers while occasionally getting to be the gear biznatch for $8/hr (oh wait, I think the gear remains down and welded, so you'll get good practice sitting on your hands
