Re: Pacific Wings Interview!!

Not to give you anymore crap, but....If you post something on a forum, you kind of are asking people to read it...

Ok well I didnt force him to read it, and I certainly didn't ask for a bitch session. Anyhow people are getting pissed so Im done with this thread, the matter is closed for me.

Re: Pacific Wings Interview!!

Well I didn't ask you to read anything so you're welcome not to comment.

I was one of the nice ones who didn't give you crap at first...When you post on an issue and change your mind on that issue as much as you have, it makes me and possibly some others question your credibility. Are you simply a troll trying to ruffle some feathers (again, I was one of those who defended you on that charge early on)? Could be anybody's guess..... If I see another post from you changing your mind, I might have a massive heart attack.

Re: Pacific Wings Interview!!

I agree but I haven't said anything that I regret. If a prospective employer doesnt like what I posted, don't call. Im a hard worker and know my stuff and my work history and no checkride failuresss attest to that. TYeah I changed my mind about this but for me it wasnt easy, its not like I was considering a military slot. Many people who have achieved big things took great risks. Thats all Im trying to do is make a great career so my family has a great life. I didnt take the job because based on what everyone said I didnt trust the company, not because Im worried about pissing someone off on this site. So thanks to everyone who offered advice, the wise cracks were funny and despite what anyone else thinks Ill get there.

I guess my point was, people are lurking all the time. Maybe important people. maybe 13,999 of the 14,003 people on here are completely unimportant D-bags (I know I am), but the three or four that aren't could literally make your career. My point - and it goes beyond you and this thread - is that I see people all the time that ask questions - that's fine - but MANY times they already have a point of view and are simply looking for affirmation - that isn't so fine. You can tell these people by how they argue with the people giving them feedback they don't necessarily want to hear. You also have people here who want to do one thing, get a lot of negative feedback and don't do it, then BLAME those people for them not taking that job which in hindsight would have been good - that is also wrong. Then you have people that simply post anything and everything that pops into their head - maybe about a boss that pissed them off (on one of the most widely read aviation forums around) or maybe they simply step into a pile of doodoo in some other way. The primary mistake you've shown in this thread is indecision. Asking about PW was ok - then you took the advice of the group - ok so far...then you interviewed anyway...alright, you made your own decision - good for you...then you got the job, again - good for you...then you turned them down...huh? All played out on the interwebs and cached for Google's sake - and our entertainment.

All I'm saying - not just to you, but everyone - be a little more discriminating about what you post sometimes. This is just friendly advice, truly. There are only a two people here that can get me where I want to go (I think), so I'm more apt to be loose-lipped because my only goal is to not piss them off - the rest of you bitches are fair game.

Seriously - not meant as a criticism - more a teachable moment for you and maybe others.

Re: Pacific Wings Interview!!

When I first found this website, it was my only access to other pilots. I didn't know a pilot, I didn't really know what to do at all, so I read the archives here. After I gained knowledge from the history that was posted long before I even made the decision to RESEARCH being a pilot, I then used this place as my hangar talk. I bet most of you made a decision not really knowing what you were getting yourself into, and now you have a better perspective, but you must admit that it looks much different from the outside than from inside. I know for sure that I made several decisions and also changed my mind many times as to what the correct path would be. I feel that back then we were much more forgiving of someone who really didn't know what path to take. I think it is unfortunate that a person came here and was apparently trying to figure out a path in a very tough industry and people are giving him grief for it. He came to a place where he felt like he would get straight talk and probably asked other people that he actually knows rather than this anonymous forum and made a decision...I bet he even felt like he was possibly going the wrong way, maybe even because we all tried to warn him from PW, but it was HIS DECISION, then he was uncomfortable with it and continued to look for a better opportunity, and when it presented itself he took it. To me it is apparent that he took this decision seriously and all of the teeth gnashing over it proves it.

Let's lighten up on him and give him a break.....support that he came to the right decision. I know I understand where he was coming from.

Re: Pacific Wings Interview!!

This whole thread is the same disaster as the Merlin Metro thread in the Corporate section of the forum.

Re: Pacific Wings Interview!!

I have tried to be somewhat supportive of you, but c'mon. You are either a troll or too unstable to be able to make decisions as a PIC.

Agreed. Because of his thread, we now see that he's a flaky, indecisive guy with a DUI. I know a lot of you guys here are extremely supportive, but... This just seems to be a bit too much. Some people just shouldn't be professional pilots.

DUDE! Now that MJG is gone you're my in! You and T-cart are the only ones I care about now because you are the only two doing something I want to do. Don't be ragging on me - I'm nice to you.

Re: Pacific Wings Interview!!

Can the real MikeD please stand up, please stand up, please stand up! And change the thread title (again) while you're at it... this thread is Full of Win (and Fail).

we've got a Brett Favre on here (DUI::naked pix sent to Jets staffer, need I say more).

You're right, after 2300 accident or incident free hours as PIC, instructing nonetheless, I have no idea of what I'm doing. And I'm sure no one else on here ever drank and drove either. I know a lot of you have been supportive and once again to those I say thanks. To those that think I'm a troll or shouldn't be a professional pilot because I gave a job a second look, well I am a professional pilot, a god one to so deal with it.

After 3400 accident and incident free hours, I have no idea what I'm doing. Get used to it. In aviation, the more you scratch the surface, the more surface area you create. I still don't know a damn thing about flying, it scares me too.

I was being sarcastic :)

Re: Pacific Wings Interview!!

I think you've burned your bridge with PW. :)

Mike.... c'mon... PW doesn't even have bridges to burn. If they didn't fire him for refusing to fly, he's still a shoo in to throw bags, check in passengers, and observe C208 CAs...
