How's the information gathering going?

I'll let a seasoned jetBlue pilot speak up, but I don't think you're right about negotiations. Most of their employees are not union, so does that really matter? Most contract talks don't seem to be going well at any airline in that situation.

Yea unions aren't management so they can't make those decisions. I give the management team at jetBlue a lot of credit for reacting as quickly as they did. There seem to be quite a few employees who work in the MCO area for jetBlue. This goes back to my earlier statement that they care about their employees outside of working hours. What I was saying is that those negotiations or anything with the union don't really apply to this thread. I am sure you can open up another one if that is the discussion you wish to have. But, I don't care about the negotiations or anything about the union, I care about the victims and their families in Orlando. Evidently, JetBlue shares that, and they were the ones that extended such a wonderful gift to those loved ones, not the unions, etc. Very impressed, and it makes me want to travel on that airline, even though it is kind of out of the way. I can see why so many are so proud to work for them.
I don't know anything about Allegiant, but kudos for them following suit.

Free space-available? Or free positive space?
Actually it does apply to this thread!
I have found that companies that treat their employees well, act in good faith during negotiations, etc., usually have good outside relations with their community.
Hence, why I asked.
I care about everything.
JetBlue isn't the first airline to have an outreach, like giving out tickets, when a community goes through a difficult time.
I know where your priorities are, and they don't relate to anything in this thread.
Not sure why everything has to be about you, but I hope you find your happy place soon. I really feel for you, and am sending good thoughts your way, that whatever is making you so unhappy in your life turns around soon. I am sure you have plenty to be grateful for, which this event in Orlando is a huge reminder for all of us to think about that all the time. Anyway...
I am sure other airlines have done commendable things before, but JetBlue is a prime example of what one should do now, they didn't hesitate one but and whomever spearheaded that should get recognition for that. Allegiant followed suit, but it isn't clear how popular the offer they made has been. It's amazing how many segments they have booked at JetBlue! Wow! That is so many more than I thought they would, and again proves that their priorities are in the right place. I can't wait to fly on JetBlue!![]()
Perhaps it's time for another song now?...welcome back my friends to the show that never ends, we're so glad you can attend, step inside, step inside...
So are you saying that if someone states their opinion that does not agree with what the gays have to say, they will be banned or post deleted??Granted most airlines are LGBT friendly, Jetblue is certainly worthy of acknowledgment for its creative idea.
One thing I used to warn some of the newbies on JC about when they'd go on occasional homophobic rants, if you're uncomfortable around your LGBT peers, they're on both sides of the cockpit door. Better look into "over the road" trucking as a solo driver because homophobia will not be tolerated in the airline business.
No just... ridiculed mostly. So are you saying that if someone states their opinion that does not agree with what the gays have to say, they will be banned or post deleted??

So it's perfectly okay to make all the gay pride comments you want, but a straight guy/gal who has an opinion that is different will be ridiculed? That is real classy.
